Does anyone know where I can find one of those foldable seats to put on the toliet? My 2yo is in the process of being potty trained but is scared of the big potty. We put a plush one of the toliet at home but it would be too big to carry around. I have heard of the foldable kind which is easy to carry in a backpack
Thanks for the help

I got one of those at toys r us. I was very disapointed and ended up throwing it away. My DS is 2 1/2 and a little short to stand up and go in public restrooms. So I got the foldable potty seat to try. I mostly wanted to use it when we go to WDW in dec. I took it to the mall one day (big mistake, should have tried it at home first) and DS need to go so we attempted to use it. Now the one we got sits on the seat with a small bit of overhang at the front of the toilet. Let's see how can I put this politely. :o I sit him on it and realize there is no way he is going to be back far enough to make it into the potty. Before I can tell him not to go, he goes. I startle him, trying to get him to stop, and next thing you know it's wet everywhere. Luckily I had an extra outfit for him in case, but I had to walk out with a wet knee. What a mess! Moral of the story is it won't work for boys. It might be ok for girls, but I did notice while DS was sitting on it did not seem to sturdy on the back side. Not that I think a child would fall in, but they might not feel secure. I think it would have worked if it weren't for the overhang in the front that wouldn't allow me to move it back on the seat. Some of the seats on the public toilets around here actually overhang a bit from the toilet itself, so that would make it even worse.

Sorry this was so long. I just wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else! :D

We didn't like ours either, but for a different reason - pinched. Pinched butts, pinched fingers.

But you can (or at least could) order them from the right start catalog.

I tried this as well and it's not worth it .. The product s**ks. Just hold them

A friend talked me into buying one of the foldable kind (I think I saw it at Right Start but bought it for less at Babies R Us). Like all the previous posters, we found it to be a waste of money! Pinching was the major problem; after 2 episodes of pinching (I tried to prevent it but that was impossible) my child just wouldn't go near the thing again!

This was a year or so ago so maybe they've come out with an improved model--I hope so!

DD didn't like it either. It pinches and also slides allover. It's not an insert like the larger ones in just sits on top of the regular seat the makes the opening smaller. DD was much happier with one of us just holding her.

First off, am I a terrible mom to do the toilet paper on the seat thing?

But I have considered a foldable seat and this is the one I go back to:

One Step Ahead http://www.onestepahead.com/jump.js...17&iSubCat=27222&iProductID=150774&change=117

It looks like it works, but i dont know.. the gaps may pinch. Look around their site, they also have disposible potty covers. I may buy those. Right now.. I just use TP and she holds onto my hands (i squat in front of her). SHe is good, knows not to touch anything. Its actually kind of cute.

Hope I helped.

We have this and have used it for 2 DD's so far and we love it!

We used it at WDW last year and it was a blessing as our DD was afraid of big toilets.

Now I use it at the doctors when my DD has to pee in a cup; I ask for the bowel and it fits perfectly in the opening of this folding toilet seat so my DD can pee for the doctor easily! She has had to pee for the doctor freqently for medical reasons so it's been a blessing in this regard as well.

We've never had the pinching problem!:sunny:

I believe I bought mine at Babies R us but they are also available at One Step Ahead and probably at The Right Start.

Yep, that's the one, without the improvement of handles.

(I should note that my kids didn't potty train until 3 1/2 - so they were ready for sitting on a big potty anyway, and may have been a little heavy for the folding potty seat.)

I used one I got from a friend last year with my DD. We had no problems in the room but she was terified of the public rest rooms so after the first day I just put her back in pull ups. The first day a very nice CM at the Baby Care Center convinced her to pee there and then gave her lots of Mickey stickers for being such a brave girl. I don't remember if the Baby Care Center had kid sized potties but they were nice and quite.

We just gpt back from WDW with our two little ones--one of whom is potty training. I am not a fan of public restrooms, but I must say that the Disney ones weren't too bad (Worse on the days it rained b/c all the water tracked in.) And every bathroom we went in the whole time had paper seat covers in every stall. I layered two of these and let my son sit on that while I held him up. Then washed hands of course.

Plus, Since this is stomach virus and cold season, I took travel size hand sanitizer in my backpack and purse and used it lots all day after rides and before meals.

It did not work for my DD. I purchased it for our WDW trip when she was almost 3. The overhand on the front of it does not make it compatible with the oblong toilet seats it was way to forward not enough Pee space. Also not very sturdy. It did slip off and she did fall in. It was very traumatic for her. Luckily I brought the regular padded one with us and it fit in my backpack.

we used the folding one quite successfully, although not at WDW. I think when they are first potty training it is very helpful, but once they get more confident then it's not necessary

I have a collapsable seat that I got at Toys r us. It features no pinch seat and it has handles and rubber 'grips' on the underside...
It worked great for us with our DS2. Also though we have taught him to "point your ***** down"and I have yet to be peed on.
He has done a good job with the portable potty seat and when we are out it is so much smaller to carry than the big chusy one that we use at home..

Rapunsel,
do you know what that seat is called? I also taught my ds to point down, but with the seat I was talking about the overhang had him pointing on the rim the potty. He wasn't back far enough to make it into the potty. When I realized it I tried to tell him to stop, but he had already begun and I just startled him which caused him to not pay attention to where it was going. We are leaving in 8 days for WDW and I really would love to have a potty seat that folds that would work for him. Thanks!:D

My daughter & I loved the one we ordered from One Step Ahead. It was great and very easy to carry around.

So what do you do with the seat when your done using it? Put it back in your backpack? That just seems gross to me. It's been on the public toilet seat and then to have to fold it back up and put it away and then get it back out again...well that just skeeves me out LOL. We just used the paper seat covers and I held onto him so he wouldn't fall in. Or we would use the toilets at the family centers in the parks.
