foldable potty covers

We had the padded version of these. Basically they work pretty well on round toilets but are scary on oval - worse than not using at all b/c the kid gets a false sense of confidence, shifts on the seat, and the whole thing goes in. Unfortunately a lot of public toilets are oval these days. So I have very mixed feelings about the seats.

We have the one you linked. It works better than some of the other folding ones I've tried. It fits fine on elongated toilets like the ones in most public restrooms. The hole is pretty small, so it makes it hard to wipe. It also doesn't have any sort of splash guard (obviously) so you have to be careful when the kid is using it.

When we took my DD to disney when she was newly potty trained we carried around a full size potty seat in a bag. The one we used was the Prince Lionheart weepod basix. She was more comfortable using that than the folding one because it was more stable and similar to what we use at home. Now that she is more comfortable with using the potty and is fully trained I only carry around the folding one.

I had something like that for both of my kids and neither ever used it. I found that once they were potty trained they didn't care about the size of the seat and the cover just made them feel more unstable. But my kids were both three and not small kids so maybe that makes a difference.

My DD is tiny and I find what works best is to just put toilet paper across the seat and hold the child over the potty. Then you don't have to carry one of these around!

I used that/similar in the past (my youngest is now 7). I kept it in a zip lock bag.

Then I found the disposable toilet seat covers and they went down the side of the toilet as well. Loved them! I don't know if they still make them as it's been about 5 yrs since I bought them.

I had one of these and thought it worked great. I wiped it off and put it in a ziplock.

What do people do for 2yos at Disney? I hadn't planned on having a trained child by October but it looks like I will....so now I am wondering what I should do. I hate to carry around a full size toilet topper all day. Any ideas???

Thanks for all the input everyone. Sounds like I'll have to try it out a few times when we get it and see how she does.

I have two girls, one of whom has the smallish behind ever. Pants fall off her no matter how tight I cinch them. We used the folding plastic potty seat for a while until she pinched herself on it, then she just sat right on the regular seat and used her hands to help keep her steady.

I always carry my foldable potty seat for my 4.5yo dd and never had any issue with it. I keep it in a ziploc. Love how mine folds so you never touch the side that touched the toilet seat.

These are handy only until they get the hang of sitting on the seat on their own. They are a bit tricky though and not sturdy if they are not placed on the seat correctly. Easy to carry around since it folds, and easily wipes clean.

Once my DS could sit on the toilet without help, I purchased the disposable liners as he always hung onto the sides of the seat/toilet.

I had one just like this for my DD when she was in pre k. She was fully potty trained but scared to death of the big potty. She would take it in a bag in her backpack, and get it out on her own when she needed to use the restroom. I would just wipe it down with Lysol wipes when she came home.

She loved it. It folds up pretty small, I think it will be well worth the small amount of space it takes up.

We have used the disney folding potty seat once for travel and threw it away right after. My child is a normal sized three year old and the seat is too small, when my child sat on it it fell in the toilet and I had to catch her by her arm!! Don't buy that one unless the dimensions have changed.

We have one called the cushy traveler. it looks like a padded version of the one you have. We used it only in our room at disney (por) last year. In the parks, I just supported her under her armpits and she held herself too. we used it in the room so she could sit for a while and be comfortable to keep things "regular". It also helped to keep in our normal evening sit on the potty/bath routine. I have used it a few times since when traveling somewhere overnight.

We brought a pottette plus for the room, but i didn't want to carry it in the parks so I just held him up on the toilets under his armpits. Worked just fine. That's what we do on public toilets anywhere.

We have used one. I really only used it for the first few months after they potty trained, I also kept it in a zip lock in my purse. It made it easier and less scary for them, it now lives at my mom's house until my youngest needs it ;) so we have more than gotten our money's worth ;) I will say, kids potty train much easier when they want to. My older three kids were all potty trained pretty quickly after they tuned 2, my youngest *hates* the potty and he will be 3 next month, he is just finally starting to come around to the idea. My kids have time and time again proved it's on their schedule ;) (I wanted to wait with my third because I was having surgery, he potty trained himself completely 10 days before my surgery! I didn't push it at all because my mom said she preferred diapers over accidents and she was who was going to be taking care of my kids and I the first week after surgery)
