Fogo de Chao????????????????

Anyone ever ate at Fogo de Chao? I know its pricey, but my husband really wants to go. Is the lunch menu much different from the dinner menu? What about desert? Can you really eat that much? Is the bananas like a desert?

We ate there for the first time in November. We were taken as guests with a large group, so I cannot really comment on the costs but the food was AMAZING. Great salad bar of the usual stuff, but fancier, plus other unique "salad" items. The bananas were okay. Not really a dessert. The meat was DELICIOUS. All types cooked to all levels (well, medium-well, etc.). We ordered dessert at the end (since they were offering) and it too was delicious! I think it would be worth the splurge once for a special occasion. Go hungry!!!

No, I have not eaten at this restaurant. Did you try looking at the menus on their web site or places such as Yelp for reviews? All easily found.

Ate at the one in Miami while visiting friends there. Service was amazing, as was the food. Impressive salad bar and a carnivore's dream. Pace yourself or you'll get filled up too fast.

I've eaten there twice as a non-red-meat-eater (and both times were paid for... never have I felt so guilty). The salad bar is excellent. They made me extra chicken because they noticed I wasn't eating the beef or pork, so service was great. I went at lunch and dinner and the offerings seemed the same. It really is a good eating experience, but definitely go hungry.

I've only been to a Brazilian steakhouse once (I can't remember whether it was Fogo) and thought it was only so-so. The "new experience" aspect was nice, but once was enough.

I've only eaten at one for lunch... and I must say it was amazing! Lunch is much less expensive than dinner and I believe they serve the same items. We couldn't stretch the budget for dinner but wanted to try it... we ended up going back with some friends later last year, they enjoyed it too.

They have a nice selection of items on the salad bar, with some more expensive/unusual items than other restaurants, serve a couple of hot sides on the table for everyone to pass around and will serve more if you need it, meat options are amazing... Hubby and I enjoyed different meats but it was nice to be able to taste everything and then get more of what you liked as they came back around to your table.

DH and I love it there! We go at least 5 times a year. The service can't be beat, and the food is amazing.

We used to go to Lunch as often as we found a reason to and it was a fantastic alternative to the dinner cost. It's amazing and a far cry from most Brazilian steakhouses! I will say that the atmosphere/decor is different at each one and we've liked some over others.

DH's work went for their Christmas party in 2011. He came back RAVING about the food which was kind of baffling because my husband just does not get excited about food.(He would gladly live off hot pockets, mac n cheese, and pepsi.)

Then I won a $100 giftcard. We went and took DH's parents and that almost covered the four of us for lunch. It was amazing. Plus, you can count it as more than one meal cause you probably won't have to eat again for two days.

The one thing I didn't figure out is what drinks cost.

I would suggest going for lunch - the savings is realized not only on the lower price, but also on the tip/gratuity.

Do not order drinks other than water - do not have breakfast that morning! HAHA

In all honesty it is a lot like Ohana!

The food is amazing, the service is head and shoulders above nearly all restaurants I have visited, and the atmosphere is very nice.

The salad bar is very nice, and when I went there were a dozen or more fruit/vegetable carvings.

If you can afford it - GO! You'll enjoy the experience!

We have eaten at the one in Dallas for dinner and the one in Colorado for lunch. Loved it both times. My DD still talks about the Brazilian ginger ale soda. Sorry but can't remember it's name. I believe the food was the same for both services. Go hungry and definately pace yourselves. BTW both places were noisey.

Definitely can't eat that much, but I've been to the DC location and the Orlando location and would recommend both for good food, and good service.

Before Dad got sick, I took Dad there for fathers day. He absolutely loved it. We have gone for both lunch and dinner. I am not trying to sound like a jerk but I really didn't look at the price. It was for my dad so it was worth it.

Also try Texas de Brazil.

I've only eaten at Tucanos in Salt Lake City. I thought the prices were VERY reasonable. Full Lunch is $13.95 and dinner is $20.95. It was absolutely delish!

We love the one in Philly. The lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu, but it is cheaper. I can't tell you about the bananas because I hate bananas.

Fogo is amazing. It really is all you can eat, and you can go back and forth between the different meats you like. The bananas are not a desert, they are there to accent the garlic loin cuts. I will sometimes eat them for desert though
When you go in you don't order plates from a menu, they will give you a plate and a disk. As long as you leave the disk green side up they will bring all of the different types of meat to your table. You can go back and forth between red and green as many times as you would like.
