FOF Parade from Train Station?

I recently saw pics in a trip report where they happened upon the FOF parade while relaxing on a bench in the Train Station.

I would absolutely love this vantage point for the parade and am wondering if anyone has tips as to how early to get there. We don't mind sitting there with a snack and relaxing for a bit but don't know how early is too early or how late is too late.

Hey, I don't know whether it's my trip report you read or not, but we did this in September

It depends what time of year you're going I guess. We decided to take some snacks up to the station at around 2pm, but to be honest, it wasn't even necessary to get there early. There were only about 4 families up there for the entirety of the parade! The crowds were really low in early September.

I can't speak for times when crowds are higher, I'd suggest around an hour in advance, but someone else would have to verify
