FlyLady vs MotivatedMoms?

hmmmm. Maybe I will have to look at it again. Sometimes my house can be ins such chaos, I just want to run away!! In fact I have taken next week off from work and my main goal is getting everything caught up and cleaned up or cleaned out!

That's I used to do when I worked full time. Takes a weeks vacation to spring clean the house. Not fun! And I would end up so physically tired, sore, and my back would be all messed up I would end up not able to finish.

I've had a very productive last couple of days I think JUST because I've been looking at websites and looking at routines. Just getting into the mindset has helped even if I don't have a routine yet. :thumbsup2

I'm also in a purgine mindset right now, I think because spring has sprung, and it feels great. I haven't felt like purging in a few years and we needed it.

Hoping this energy level lasts throughtout all I need / want to get done. :goodvibes

thanks everyone. :lovestruc

Iott Family posted some more easy lists on another thread. She's a fan of FlyLaby but found these easier than a Control Journal.
:thumbsup2

mainstreetmom.com has a few good lists that I have incorporated into my childrens daily tasks and tweaked for my flybaby routines. Its simpler than a control journal and I laminated it and posted each sheet on my fridge and we use a dry erase marker to mark completed tasks then wipe off for the next week.

If you are in the purging/de-cluttering mode flylady and every other HGTV organizing show I have ever watched uses the three bin method. Take three boxes, laundry baskets or trash bags and mark them keep, toss and donate. as you fill a box/bin move it out to its place and start over again.

I like the 15 minutes per room or area rule. You can do alot in 15 minutes! I clean house in 15 minute increments. Room to room I can pick up, dust and sweep the "hot spots" and then follow my weekly routines for a deeper clean :)

When we get back from our DC trip next thursday I am tuning in to this thread to keep me motivated to finish up my spring fling!

I think I'm going to attempt to create my own routine. I'm lucky that our house isn't wicked cluttered, but I have a room that is becoming the dumping ground and what to nip it in the bud while I can. And its been a while that drawers & closests were cleaned out so that's going to happen too.

What I need, it a cleaning routine because I just put it off. So, after looking at all these sites, I'm just going to make a Daily List (or almost daily); Weekly List like vac bills, errands, menus...; and Monthly List that will also incorporate the weekly zone idea from FlyLady.

So each day, I'll be doing:
Daily List
something from the Weekly list
and something from the Monthly list or some of a zone
and 15 minutes at a time on purging or projects.

I have homeroutines on my iPhone and I love it. It was developed by a flybaby so it follows along close to her plan but I think much easier. It is easy to edit to suit your needs.

Tonight, DH gave me his iPod Touch that he never uses. :goodvibes I downloaded the HomeRoutines app. :thumbsup2 I like that it follows FlyLady & zones and now I don't need to set up a Control Journal for routines. :) Just have to tweek the ones in the app to fit our house.

And its geeky like me. :)
