I am looking for advice. We are flying next month with our four children. The one I am really concerned about is my daughter who is just turning 2 this month. I am going to pack each child a special bag but need ideas for hers. I am also worried about her ears. She drinks from a sippy cup which AI plan to use to help, but are there other alternatives? She tends to get upset fairly easily, should I give her some tylenol or something before we get on the plane? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Oh, it's about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour flight/

As your pediatrician. Advice will be more specific for your daughter than posts here.

We traveled with our daughter just after she turned 2, and then again when she just turned 4 (and DS was 15 mos). We used juice boxes instead of sippy cups. It was more like a special occasion to her, and she was more likely to drink out of it than the sippy cup. We didn't give the kids any medication prior to flying. Pack lots of toys that are new (books, travel magnadoodle, playdoh, view master, the stickons that go onto the window). Depending on your flight time, you may be lucky that she will take a nap!! We also sang a lot of songs (do you have a portable tape or CD player)??

If you are worried about her ears hurting, check out a product called "Earplanes". You can find it in most drugstores and it is reported to help both children and adults. It goes in the ears and works by equalizing the pressure. Your toddler will have to leave them in to work, though, LOL.

Enjoy the trip!
