Flying With Virgin

Virgin used to be the leaders in transatlantic travel. Unfortunatley the past few years has seen a big decline in quality of service, food and planes.
We always take our own food now, only had 1 good meal in the past 8 flights. Staff hit and miss but thats same with many airlines, and as for the planes it depends which you get, the last flight we had could not use the headsets in 2 of the 3 seats, jack plug holes too worn. Flight before that the had big problems with the whole entertainment system, also broken seat that would not stay upright.
They are not great but they get you there and direct, we only use them because of Miles and money scheme with great prices and only direct carrier we can use for a 25 night trip from Manchester.

I agree with wayneg. With the exception of UC they have fallen back from lead position to pretty much in with the pack, low cost carriers excepted.

I still use them also but it's entirely based on price these days, I wouldn't pay the extra to fly with them like I may have once done.

They have a few nice touches, seat selection, on-line/twilight check-in but again this is becoming more common across the industry.
The baggage allowance can be a bonus in comparison.

I'd agree, they used to be head and shoulders above the rest, now they are just about the same.

Never had a problem, but everyone else has caught up.
