We are heading up to a wedding in MI and are flying. Last year we were able to take our stroller/carrier combo right up to the gangway and they took it from us and stored it under the plane. Very convenient.
This year, we don't have the "combo" but an actual carseat. Does anyone know if they check it, or do we carry it around with us and they store it underneath again? Is there a charge for checking it? They charge $15 per suitcase, I know.
We didn't pay for a seat for the baby, if that makes a difference.

DH is staying home so it'll be just me and DD (10 months) - we are using the convertible carseat and not an infant carrier at this point and from everything I've seen online - you can either gate check it (what you did before) or you can check it normal with your bags but there is no charge for it since it's considered "medical equipment" they sell bags to put the carseat in at Babies R Us, don't know how much they are, but you will need some sort of bag for the carseat I believe. I have a friend who's cousin works for Delta and he said you can also purchase these 'protective bags' from the airline for like $5 when checking the seat. I found everything on the TSA website if you wanna look there for more details!
