i am taking my grandson to Disney in June for the first time. Yay!!! We are flying & just wondering if I need to bring anything for him to go through security. Such as birth certificate . Thanks

Children are not required to show any form of ID when traveling domestically. So, you should not have an issue. If you want to be extra prepared you can have the parents fill out a parental consent form (available to download online) naming you the travel guardian and you have their permission to travel with your grandson. 99% of the time you won't need it.

You don't need to bring anything. TSA will not look at letters or forms. Who is to say they are legitimate? I was told this by a TSA agent at the Orlando airport.

They might ask him who you are; that's happened with us. He'll tell them that you're his grandparents and you'll move on. No issues.

They usually ask DS his name, who we are and if he knows where we are going. Nothing to complicated. Have a great trip!

It's absolutely unnecessary 100% of the time for a minor flying domestically to have id or any type of note from parents allowing travel, with the exception of an under 2 year old flying as a lap baby.

We are also flying with our DGS (11 yo). His first visit to WDW. Good to know that we won't need any documents.

You should look into getting a Medical Consent form for the parents to fill out. Accidents do happen. Also make sure that you are provided with his medical coverage details and/or cards. If he takes medications, a detailed list including prescription number and dosages.

Have a great vacation!
