Flying with full size aerosol hairspray

Anyone have any info on this? Even the TSA website seems vague. I know I can only carry the travel size in carry on bags, but can I put a full size can in my checked bag? My brand doesn't have a travel size.

Putting it in the checked bag is OK. You can put almost anything in a checked bag.

Aerosols are prohibited with the exception of toiletries/personal care items, hairspray is fine.

They just mean a reasonable amount for the length of your trip - so one can is fine but they would probably question several.
