I am flying with Frontier Airlines next month for the first time, can anyone with experience tell me how strict on carry on's they are are? With Delta, Allegient, and Airtran for my personal item I have always taken my backpack (standard size) with my laptop, a book, camera, personal items like wallet, etc in it. It has always fit under the seat and I've never had issues.

Frontier's website doesn't list a backpack as a personal item so I'm concerned it may not be allowed. Does anyone have any experience with this? It is a short trip so I am doing carry on's only and don't want to check a bag.

Frontier's website does list a backpack as a personal item:

How do you define a personal item?
In addition to the one carry-on bag, you may carry one personal item. A personal item is a small item carried on which fits underneath the seat in front of you. Some examples of a personal item include:

Handbag, purse, or pocketbook
Backpack
Briefcase
Laptop computer, with or without a bag

It doesn't matter what your carry-on is, as long as it is not a prohibited item and meets the size dimensions set by your airline, in Frontier's case,

Your carry-on bag's dimensions, including handles and wheels, can't exceed 9.5" height + 15.5" width + 24" length, and the bag can't weigh more than 35 pounds

I don't know how I missed that! I must have looked right over it. Thanks!
