Flying with food allergies

Just stay away from products like applesauce or fruit cups since they usually contain alot of "juice". Those are the types of products you want to avoid....Saucy or liquid containing foods. TSA can confiscate them and rightly so. :)

Some of the new applesauce pouches are under 3 ounces and can be put in your 1qt bag. I've never had a problem getting them through security that way.

OP, if you are worried about contact allergies, you might want to look at an airplane seat cover. They easily slip over the seat and can be reused or disposible depending on what you get. I'd put up links but I'm on my phone right now; I'll see if I can add them in when I get to my laptop.

Edit: Found the seat covers site. www.planesheets.com

Thank you for mentioning!

as long as it is under 3.4 oz and can fit in your quart bag...but since they can't measure the amount of juice in a sealed fruit cup, I have seen those taken and rightly so. The traveler cannot prove it is within the limits...so it is a No Go item. :)

Yep, a fruit cup that doesn't have the quantity on it and the size is questionable shouldn't make it through security. If the # of ounces is factory printed, is under 3.4oz, and fits in your 1 quart bag it should get through security. Motts Snack and Go pouches are 3.2oz and I take them on every trip. Of course, you can always run across TSA agents with their own interpretation of the rules so it's always a good idea to have backup items. :goodvibes

I had to smile when I read this because it is true. I really have not had issues with TSA myself (except maybe one or two minor issues) but I can't tell you how many times they have missed the pepper spray I carry attached to my keys!!!! I Always try to remember to remove it a few days before I fly but last year I was super forgetful about this!! It made it through security at least four times!! And not once was this done intentionally. :)
