Looking to fly with aer lingus next year as they are the cheapest and via Birmingham.

Anyone have any comments good or bad?

Also what is the immigration thing in Dublin, does that save time and how does it work?

Thanks:goodvibes

I've only flown back to Dublin with them from MCO and they were excellent. We flew in business class and the service was superb, great food, excellent seats and great food. I'd use them again if the price was right. We fly from Manchester but I'd have no hesitation in flying via Dublin.

We flew out of Dublin last year, you cleared immigration in Dublin so when you landed in MCO it was just like getting off a domestic flight. Painless and easy. Aer lingus flight were very good there and back.

Disclaimer: I'm Irish :)

But, AL are great, will always try and fly with them if possible, Great service, better than average food and good planes

Immigration clearance in Dublin is brilliant. As the PP said it's like arriving in MCO as a domestic passenger from another US airport, pick up bags and go, simple as.

You check in your case ,in Birmingham ( If you are travelling A.L )

& you will pick it up in Orlando . ........ You Will have to " Point out your Case

when it is DISPLAYED on Immigration Screen " in Dublin .

You arrive in Dublin & have about 8 min walk to transfer section & Passport

check & then you are in Duty Free & Cafe area & a short walk to

USA pre clearance & Customs point . Once through you go to Gate &

board plane .

You HAVE of course pre selected your Free seats when you Made your booking.

Seat back TV screens & food is good with Free soft drinks .

Wine etc costs money.

You arrive at Gate 24 as a domestic passenger. so streight to mono

rail & baggage claim

Would highly recommend AL we have used them several times and always been happy with the service.
Pre clearance saves so much time when you arrive in the US. We have been from landing to resort check in 1 1/2hours and have been that waiting at immigration on arrival in Orlando before. Last year the flight made up so much time on the way over we were checking into our resort before we should have even landed.
We have booked to fly with them this year and have booked the better level of meal that is on offer. £15 but you get three courses and wine with that.

Glad to hear so much positive feedback for Aer Lingus as we are flying with them in a couple of weeks :thumbsup2

Another vote for Aer Lingus :thumbsup2
Very please with service we had in Biz Class :goodvibes

We've flown with them a couple of times in business class & really enjoyed both flights.
Flying with them again in November to MCO & can't wait.

Thanks for all the feedback and so much positive comments

We are still working it out. But also speaking to disney as we can add flights to our current booking 11 months out and only pay £100 each deposit until the whole amount is due, which allows me to keep my money longer. This is with BA

Has anyone booked Aer Lingus through Travel Up? The invoice says to re confirm flights directly with the airline a minimum of 72 hours before the flight, but the Aer Lingus website says that there's no need to re confirm flights with them. So is it safe to assume I don't have to?

I read somewhere that due to US clearance on site that you can't take food and drink with you (certain things). In that case, what does one so about baby milk and food? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the baby food but there's a small cafe after you clear and we buy crisps and snacks there. If it was a sandwich and we did not finish it we would leave it on the plane.

Just to add we just got back on Sunday having flown with Aer Lingus on the 4th to NYC and back from Orlando on the 18th flights were all great pre clearance at Dublin was a breeze we were through in 10mins.
The additional cost meals were excellent. They are a decent portion and its served on proper plates with proper cutlery. We had the chicken and steak meals.
Booked into the lounge in Dublin on the way back and it was nice to have a quiet place to take a nap and have a shower
