What is best price you have paid for this route? ( taxes included please!)
And within the last year or so. I know fares have really gone up this year.

We are going on an Alaska cruise next year , and the best price I can see ( for this year) is about $600.00 round trip per person( westjet)
Sunwing seems to be about he same.

I am considering flying into Seattle ( from buffalo) and then taking a train/ bus to Vancouver.
It's cheaper for the flight but requires extra hotel rooms, food and alot of travel time.
We are a family of 5 so a couple hundred dollars a ticket makes a difference over all.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

My family is cruising in 4 weeks out of Vancouver, we are flying from Toronto. We got flights with Westjet and paid $500 each. We bought them in November I think though. I would continuously watch the prices and watch for a seat sale. The put them on. You could end up saving around $40 - $50 a seat each way.

Good luck:thumbsup2

For a cruise, I'd give yourself plenty of time incase of delays. I would arrive in Vancouver a day before cruise, just in case. A friend works for a cruise line here, doing the land portion, making arrangements for passengers for airport transfers, busses, hotels, etc. And I've heard the horror stories of delayed flights, and missed cruise departures.

Normally I'd say fly to Seattle, I always use SEA, because of cheaper fares. And there is a bus that goes from SeaTac to YVR or the Downtown Vancouver hotels. You could do this, and get a bus after your flight to Vancouver the day before your cruise, it would be a long day, however the time change works in your favour. But because of the cruise- I may think about flying into YVR. The day before. Just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the replies.

I should have added, we are planning on going to Vancouver( or Seattle if that works better) a few days before the cruise. Lots of time before.
We MUST leave Vancouver immediately after he cruise, as I have to back to work the next morning.

$500 for roundtrip flights would possibly be doable for us ( still very expensive though).

So I guess buying in advance s the key with west jet? Or Air Canada?

Seems like the going rate? I paid about $600 and change last year TO to Victoria on Air Canada.

Keep in mind Air Canada charges you 25b dollars for your first bag and WestJet charges nothing.
