Hi Ladies,
My wedding is Sept. 21st. I am flying from NJ to Orlando with my dress. I hear there is no way to reserve the closets on Jet Blue for large garments. Does anyone have any suggestions for traveling with the dress?

Thanks!

I'm sure others will have advice as well - but every time I've flown with a bride on board - the attendants have been more than accommodating to assist in hanging the dress in a closet...that being said - sometimes I've been on planes and there weren't any closets!!! Eeekk!!! I used to fly for work ALOT....once a bride was in the flight with me and there wasn't any closets and they luckily had an extra seat and they kind of "hung" the dress over the seat and moved some folks around - again everyone was really accommodating - even the passengers!!! I hope it works out for you!!! Congrats in your upcoming wedding!!! We were married there in 2010 but at the swan and dolphin and my family is still talking about how great it was! You will have a blast!!!

I've heard many brides have shipped them to their resort. I'm planning on shipping mine to a company many others have used to steam their gowns - um, can't remember the name but the initials are CA. Sorry! I'll get more info! And congratulations!!!!

Ah, found it:

Carolyn Allens Bridal & Tuxedos
5410 Central Florida Parkway Orlando, FL 32821 407-238-2722 (phone) 407-238-9535 (fax) www.carolynallens.com

I really don't want to fly with my dress from TX, and it'll have to be steamed anyway. So many details!

Is it a fluffy gown? If not, you may be able to hold it in your seat like I did when I was flying home after buying the dress. The attendants offered to hang it in the closet but the dress was too long. You could also put it in the overhead bin, but I didn't want to crumple mine up.

For the actual wedding, I'm shipping my dress to CA.

I just put mine in the overhead bin for our vow renewal. I doubt Spirit has closets even back then when they were a bit different on pricing. It wasn't a terribly full flight and we were able to lie it over the suitcases. People tend to be really considerate about wedding gowns on flights, I've noticed.
My sister drove down to Florida so she brought her steamer and we steamed both of our dresses in my room.

I shipped mine to Carolyn Allen and they steamed it and delivered it to my room, then picked it up and shipped it home for me. It was sooooooo worth not having to hassle with schlepping my dress all over the airport.
