We are considering the possiblity of flying to disney for our april trip and I want to know about getting flights throught priceline and other types of companies like this. Who have you used? How waas your expierence? How long was your flight? Did you have a considerable savings? etc. We usually drive and it is anywhere from 9-12 hrs and cost about 200 dollars roundtrip in gas and snacks in my car. Could we fly round trip preferably nonstop but not more than two and thats pushing it for 200 dollars.

NEver buy air travel through priceline or travelocity, or other travel brokers. You lose the ability to deal directly with the airline should something arise and you need to cancel, postpone or switch flights. Your money is gone the minute you hit the BUY button, whether you end up flying or not. You will always get the lowest fares through the individual airline websites yourselves. Using travelocity or expedia to search for the lowest fare isn't a bad idea. But once you've figured out which airline that is in your particular situation just go to the website of the airline and book it.

Please note that Southwest flights cannot be searched or viewed on travelocity, expedia, kayak, etc.

Have a great trip!

I have about a 11-12 hour drive to WDW, and we find that we can get there by car in about 3.5 hours less time than it takes to fly, given that we are a good 2.5-3 hours from any airport that has Southwest flights.

Airlines, even SWA, just aren't discounting like they have in the last 6 years or so. It would be extremely difficult to fly for less than what it costs to drive, unless you are flexible enough to fly on a mid-weekday or at red eye times.

I agree with the above poster about priceline et al. It's always cheaper just to find out which airlines serve the airport you wish to fly out of, and go to their individual websites to look for fares. In my case, I have about 5 airports I have to check fares for (Lexington, Covington, Louisville, Nashville, Knoxville) and the different airlines available at each, before I can make a fully informed decision on whether to fly or drive to WDW.
