Flying Thanksgiving weekend

We are flying Sat. Nov. 27 andreturning Dec.4. We are looking at flying SW due to their nonstop flights and our group of 7 can sit near each other.

Should we book our flight before the non stop flights fill up or should we take a chance and and wait for cheaper rates?

I am assuming you are flying out of KC, we are going Nov. 19-28, and I just jumped on the non-stops right away. The one on the way down is now twice what I got it for. Since we are going to be there the week of Thanksgiving, I was afraid it would fill up. How about going ahead and booking and if it comes down, you could get a credit. I was just happy to get the non-stop!

I would highly suggest booking as soon as you can. Thanksgiving, albeit any holiday weekend, is always very busy for airlines, especially SWA. You best bet would be booking for flight as soon as you can and then printing your boarding passes online at midnight the night before you leave or right when you get up in the morning. That would give you the better chance of getting an "A" boarding pass. Then when you get to the airport you may check your bags and relax knowing you are in the first boarding group.

Yes, we are considering flying out of KC. I was thinking the same thing as far as book now to ensure the non-stop flight. Thanks for all of the advice.

We booked SW on Nov.27 out of Kansas City. Last week it was $92.00 but those flights are unavailable now. The next best price is $154.00 for non-stop or Friday the 26th is still available at $92.00.
