Flying SW with Peanut Allergies

I noticed on my confirmation email that Southwest serves peanuts and pretzels on their flights. Has anyone flown with peanut allergies? What do you do? Usually the smell of peanuts doesn't bother my son, but he's never flown before...I'm wondering if being in an enclosed space with all the little bags of peanuts around him might be an issue...

Opinions?

if you make it known to SW before hand that there are peanut allergies, they seem to "pull the peanuts" from that flight, have seen it happen on flights we have been on from BUF to MCO

call SW and check with them
