Flying Squirrels in attic

OP- You jinxed me. I read your post today and thought thank goodness it's not us this time. DD heard scratching tonight and and DH went up to investigate. He thinks it's a squirrell with the way the insulation was being shredded. We own a trap, this should be fun We caught a raccoon this fall. It's like wild kingdom in my attic.

We've had the same problem the past two winters. The little guys jump from the large trees to the roof, let themselves in & set up housekeeping. And they're quite noisy at it!

We had a big hail storm early in the summer & ended up having the roof replaced. So far this winter, no squirrels - the new roof & gutters must have taken care of all of the entry points.

My fingers are crossed - for us and for you!!!

I'm off to my local hardware store to ask about this red fox urine. Does it also work as a preventive measure? Against all squirrels?

Right. They will smell the presence of the predator and not want to come to your home.

So sorry for the jinx. Sounds like you definitely have an entry point somewhere. My DH went up in the attic and said he couldn't find where they were coming from. The wildlife guy went up and found two points of entry right away. It was only $345 for the guy to come out, get rid of the squirrels and patch the entry points. And it included a guarantee. As much as I hate spending that, especially this time of year, I am grateful that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
