Flying Palmeto bugs

Lived in Florida 12 years and have NEVER had a problem with them. We moved into an aparatment last month and the other night I heard and saw these HUGE bug buzzing by and then attach my lamp. Me being the brave person that I am went for my hairspray since I lacked bug spray and sprayed it. It was HUGE. I mean HUGE! I grapped half the box of tissue to transport it to the whirlpool in the bathroom to flush it to whereever palmeto bugs go in the afterlife and thought that I was done with it. A couple days later I heard another one. Still without bug spray, but braver this time, I attacked it with a piece of paper and also sent it to the afterlife. I then heard another one. I think this palmeto bug has seven lives or something. I never see more then one, but after I send one on it's way another one always appears. I am going to buy bug spray today!

not to freak you out but they are a roach. Not a cockroach but they are in the roach family. Yuck I hate them.

I know they are, but try not to think about it. They just need to go away!

Since your living in an apartment could you get the landlord to spray for the bugs?

When we lived in Florida, the exterminator told us they like to infest palm trees. I've never looked at palm trees the same.

eek, I saw a huge one in Fl one time....thought it was a 757. I was heading straight for me. the things freak me out!!!!

They have the apartment spraid on a quarterly basis. I do have a palm tree right outside my bedroom window. Betcha that's where they are coming from. I have my bug spray. So I'm ready and armed now.

UGH!!

We lived in St. Petersburg in the 1980's and those bugs were HORRIFYING! Yuck, yuck, yuck!

We had sliding glass doors out to the pool area and those nasty little suckers could crawl up the outside of the door, wiggle across the top of the door between the door and the door frame, and POP! slide down on the INSIDE of the door and fly across the living room! YIKES!

Good luck! I am too scared of big bugs to squish them - I usually just run!
