We are from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and it is very expensive to fly out of our regional airport ($500 a person is what I am being currently quoted) So we usually fly out of Minneapolis/St Paul, MN or Omaha, NE.

I am currently getting quotes of around $240 per person inlcuding taxes and booking fees. Does anyone think I can do better than this. Probably should mention that I am trying to book for early August. Thanks for any info or advice you may have.

I fly out of Mpls all the time and would jump on a fare that low. Maybe you could get one cheaper, but to me it wouldn't be worth the risk. I am currently waiting to book 18 tickets for November. If I can get that fare I will be a happy camper!

If that's a price for non-stop with times you can live with, I agree with Jean. Take it!

FWIW, I consider anything non-stop MSP-MCO that is under $250 to be a good price. To me, it's not worth playing the "wait game" to save $20 or $30.

I agree! If MSP to MCO is less than $250 rt/non-stop, I'm taking it! I got lucky a few weeks ago & got $226 rt from NWA! It's for September, but I jumped on that!!

Good luck!

I rarely find fares under $200 with one connection out of MSP. Usually the prices hover around $250-$350 for NWA, Sun Country, and Air Tran for direct flights. Lately the prices have been closer to $300 that I have seen. So I'd have to agree to take the $250. It's a good deal.

I'll second the thoughts on airfare out of MSP. I did snag four tickets on NWA this may for $196 each (total with tax), but that was VERY lucky and I just happened to see it. I checked again about an hour later and the price was back up at $202 before taxes.
I have one other suggestion though, try farecast.com and see if they say to stick it out or buy now.

Hi there! I live about 45 minutes away from SF. We fly out of there all the time. We flew Allegiant out of there last November, into Sanford. Have you checked into them? MSP or Omaha is what we'll do next time. I'm leaning towards Southwest out of Omaha actually. Nice to see someone from around the boondocks, just like me, here!! ;) Where are you finding the $240/per person at?

Hello - I think this is the first time someone has posted who has even heard of Sioux Falls. Where do you live at in Minnesota? I actually have checked with Allegiant Air but they only have their fares and flights scheduled through August 8th and we want to fly out the 3rd or 4th and return on the 15th. I did call them and they said that that information should be out sometime in April. I haven't ruled this option out but do not like the times of the flights. We would arrive in the later evening on the 4th.

I found flights for around $240 p.p out of MSP and that is non-stop flights. Around $251p.p out of Omaha with 1 stop. I also recently found flights on the Airtran.com site for around $236 p.p. and this is also non-stop flights.

On a side note, we stayed at Port Orleans - Riverside last September and really liked it. This time we are staying at Pop Century and getting two rooms - the extra bathroom will be nice.

We live in Eau Claire, Wis., and always fly NW out of MSP to MCO. I have never paid more than $176 for nonstop round trip. We will be flying out of MSP on 12/12/07 and returning on 12/28/07. I check my standard fare sites every couple days checking on the fares. As soon as I find one for around $180 I am booking it.
