Flying out of Newark

i was hoping anyone who flies out of EWR could give me some insight on typical ticket prices. I’m used to using Philly airport but we have credits towards United so I’ve been looking at prices. They have two levels of tickets (the lowest doesn’t have overhead bin access and can’t select seats). Right now, if we were to book the ticket level where you could book a seat it would be around $260. This would be flying out end of Jan. Can anyone confirm if EWR to MCO flights for United get lower than this??

Jet Blue does lots of direct EWR-MCO. On time performance in an out of Newark is not good and the later in the day, the worse it is. Southwest is also an option though there are not a lot of direct flights.
Between these two I can usually score something around 225-250. Jet Blue you get an assigned seat but pay for luggage, Southwest, I get EBCI, but no baggage fee so between the two it's a wash.

Did United in April for the first time in awhile and I think it was about 260 by the time I paid for the seat.

A lot depends on the day you fly... if you can do Tuesday to Thursday you can sometimes score a deal. I've gotten it for under 180. I have tickets for December on Southwest which was the best deal but have already started scoping my March flights to see where they are price wise.

I think if I were looking at strictly United, I would continue to check and monitor the seating chart to see how many available seats there are. Wouldn't be surprised if it goes down a bit.

I cant speak on United but I got direct RT tickets on JetBlue with 1 checked bag and seat selection EWR-MCO for $180 per person for my September trip this year. I bought in February I believe. We are first flight out going and last flight out coming home. When I flew Southwest out of EWR in September 2016 I think we paid around $230 which included 2 checked bag per Southwest policy. From my own experience, 6 months out is when I see the lowest price for Philly and EWR which are our 2 airport options as well. Hope this is kind of helpful.

IME, $260 per person R/T EWR-MCO on UA is reasonable. Also, IMHO you are better off buying the "Economy", which allows you to pick a seat, rather than Basic Economy, which has many restrictions.

For United that sounds reasonable, but I haven't found them to be the cheapest by any means. We have mostly changed to flying out of Philly because it's both cheaper and easier even with a longer drive.

I know, they’re def not the cheapest especially with their tiered ticket levels, which is kind of annoying. The only reason it would end up saving us money vs flying AA out of philly is because of the credits we have for them. It’s funny because yesterday I was thinking I should just book them and then today they went up!

Sounds reasonable. We usually connect through newark on united originating from burlington Vermont. We expect $300 round trip to MCO usually; I don't really remember it being lower.

That being said, Newark is a tough airport, but direct to MCO shouldn't be bad. When you need to connect to a smaller regional airport like Burlington, if there is any cause for a traffic jam at newark, the smaller regional airports get binned. Happens more frequently than I like, as I have to connect through there a lot. When I have a choice I connect through Chicago or Dulles via united.
