Flying on Thanksgiving Day?

Has anyone flown to Orlando on Thanksgiving Day? Was it as crazy as flying the day before Thanksgiving? We're waiting for Southwest to open up for November, so we were wondering what type of fares to expect. Did anyone fly last year on this day that could give up a heads up on what to expect for airfare, crowds, and stress?

Thanks
Jan

I've flown on T-Day a couple of times. It's crowded, but no where NEAR what it is the day before.

And most people are in good moods, too...

As far as airfare goes, shop around. I've gotten PHL or EWR toMCO in the $200 range, which is what it is normally.

My DH flew down once on T-giving, he said it was the best day of the year to fly. The airport in BOS was deserted and MCO wasn't bad. You can get much cheaper airfare if you fly on T-giving and then wait till after Tuesday to go back.

Thanks for the replys. This is just the kind of news I wanted to hear. Now, we just have to wait for Southwest to extend their dates past September.

Thanks
Jan
