Flying on a Wednesday or Thursday?

There is no "usually" when it comes to airfares these days. Your best move is to plug in your dates at your preferred airline website and then play with them to fine the lowest price. Some airlines (like Delta) have an option that will show you prices for a date range.

I will be flying Southwest. What I'm seeing on their low fare calendar is that for short-range flights, Thursdays are higher than Wednesdays, but for flights several months out, Thursdays are the same as Wednesdays. Wondering if that is the general pattern? I have to book my DVC room now, but Southwest doesn't release November dates until February.

ETA: Also has flying on Veteran's Day been different than other dates? I know that flying on Halloween is much cheaper than other dates, but I've never had an eye out for Veteran's Day.

Can't you book DVC for one extra day, then once you get your flights, adjust the day? So for example, if you were looking at seven nights, book eight... Wednesday - (following) Thursday. Once you get your flights booked, cancel either the first Wednesday or the second Thursday.

Yeah, I could if I had enough points. The only way I can do that is to borrow points which can't be undone. I'm just 6 points short.
