Flying into Burbank? Too far?

We always fly into SNA, but prices are double right now for our time frame. We've used LAX and traffic was a pain but doable, however, Burbank is coming in super cheap. Is it worth it? Is traffic even worse than LAX since it's further? Is shuttle service easy enough, haven't decided if we will rent a car yet.

Burbank is significantly out of your way. My in-laws accidentally booked their flight into Burbank instead of SNA once and it took them quite a while to get to DL. It's only about 40 miles, but in LA that could be 2 or 3 hours.

Totally depends on flight times. You can make it to DL in an hour...IF you time it right...or easily 2+ hours if you are wrong.

From BUR, you would want a car.

What are your arrival and departure options in and out of BUR?

When is your arrival time? I wouldn't hesitate to fly into Burbank at half the cost. It's also a much easier/smaller airport than LAX.

I drive past Burbank when I make trips to DL. It's maybe 1 hour away honestly, unless you're driving at rush hour. BUR is half-way between my house and Disneyland and we are able to make the drive to Disneyland in 90 minutes (sometimes 70, once 120). If you fly in on a weekend, the traffic is also infinitely better. Burbank is my favorite local airport actually because it's not as big as LAX, but it's cheaper than SNA or Long Beach.

Did you look at Long Beach? It is closer than Burbank and I notice the flights are much less than SNA?

Not always!

Burbank is farther than LAX. LGB is another option much closer than LAX or BUR. This airport is small like SNA as well.

Burbank but carpool helps a lot
Just take the 134 east, to 210 east, to 605 south, to 91 east to 5 south. Everyone of these freeways have carpool.
Avoid taking the 5 all the way there.

Depends what time of day/day of the week.
