flying in day of cruise or day before???

Anyone here watch "Airline" on A&E? They re-aired an episode where they had severely overbooked a flight - by 53 people. And all the flights that day were oversold. It seemed that everyone at the counter was saying "I have to get to Miami, I'm on a cruise that leaves today".

And while I've never before heard of a flight being oversold by that much, it's a very, very common practice for airlines to overbook flights.

And while I felt sorry for each and every one of those people who were likely going to miss their cruise, I kept thinking "should have flown in the day before".

Last cruise we flew in the morning of.... Big Mistake! The flight was delayed, didn't leave until 10:30 a.m. after they had to bump 33 people off the flight!! We felt rushed and did leave 1 peice of luggage at the Orlando airport, and didn't discover it until around 4 p.m. Yes it made it to the ship thanks to a great CM at guest services. We also had to leave at 4 a.m. to make our 7 a.m. flight, and we were tired by dinner time. So this year we are flying in the day before so we can relax!!!
