After the west coast Repo.

Direct flights cost nearly 500$ each!

I could fly from Seattle for half that.

HOw difficult is it to drive from Vancouver to Seattle?

Any other advise?

I have not done it myself but my Dsil and family have (for a different reaon). They live in Surrey (sub of Vancouver)
I believe the drive is close to 3 hrs, not including any border crossing times.

There is a bus also that goes from the airport and other downtown lcoations- not sure about port- you can google
You could rent a car but check about crossing border with rental and any extra drop off fees.
My Dsil had their son drive them to a place across the border (Bellingham maybe) and rented car from there to SEA
If that is $500 total (for how many people) assume rental car plus gas will cost at least $150-200 with taxes

You can rent a car. Price it. It won't be as cheap as renting a car at MCO and returning it to MCO.

You can take a bus directly from the port to the Seattle airport. One way fare is $57.

You can also take Amtrak.

You might be able to book a transfer from your cruise line, not sure if that's any different than booking quick shuttle directly.

Your saving $250 per person. Makes sense to at least consider flying out of Seattle.

The drive is mostly lovely, but long. And if you hit Seattle during rush hour then it's painful, so do not be in a hurry! Give yourself plenty of time.

There's Amtrak; they have a bus or a train, so be sure you know what you're getting if you book. But they don't run all the time (the train, that is), so you might end up having to stay a night at a hotel. There's also the fare (shuttle, cab, etc) from the train station to the airport. Remember, Seatac is approx halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, which are around 30 miles apart.

So it starts adding up, but it's still going to come in less than $250 per person, even if you took cab to Amtrak, took Amtrak to Seattle, cab to airport-area hotel, stayed the night, then took a shuttle (most area hotels in seatac have free shuttles) to the airport the next day.

I've done the bus that Lewis up thread talked about. Or check with the cruise line about the bus to Sea Tac. (might be the same bus as the link) Honestly, yes it was a bus, but it was painless and went from the ship to Sea Tac. It was very easy.
