Flying home from MCO -- what flight time do you think it more popular?

departing at 9:05 am or departing at 5:50 pm. (This is on a Friday on Southwest)

I'm torn between the two for various reasons. I thought I could book the flight today that would be more in demand -- hoping that the other flight would have better availability if we changed our minds later down the road...

AND, would there be a noticeable difference in security/crowds for the different times?

Any thoughts? Or am I over thinking things (as usual -- just ask my DH!)

Well, for us it would depend on whether we were using DME, as we do most of the time. The early flight would necessitate a really early DME pick-up time (7:15 or so). Been there, done that.....not very appealing.

Also, you would not be able to use the RAC program with the early flight. You could with the later flight. And the later time adds some extra hours to visit the parks, shop, swim, etc. WDW will hold your luggage.

If you will have a car, it may not matter except for thinking about avoiding/allowing extra time for commuter traffic at those times.

The security lines can be quite crowded at either time. For a Friday, maybe a tad busier.
