we fly home at 6.15pm - how many hours do we need to check in before we fly??? (flying Virgin holidays)
just trying to plan my last day ;)

You are usually advised to check in about 3 hours before your flight.

However, if you have a car you should take advantage of the check in at Downtown Disney early in the morning and that way you will have no luggage (except hand luggage) and then you won't need to be at the airport until approx 4.15 / 4.30pm as all you will need to do is go through security.

This then gives you nearly a full day to finish enjoying your holiday :)

Though we tend to arrive fairly early at the airport anyway I agree with Paula.
Take advantage of the DTD check in and you don't have to worry about your luggage then.

We usually check-in on line and still drop our bags at DTD and usually arrive at the airport about 90 minutes before the flight and go straight through.

3 hours before we used to do.
However we will be taking full advantage of DTD this time.:goodvibes

Definitely use Downtown Disney check in, we did last year and were so pleased we did. Our flight home was delayed by 5 hours which we wouldn't have know about till we had turned up at the airport. As it was we were delighted, a whole day more to enjoy ourselves. We just dumped the luggage with them, went back to the hotel, then had a fun day at Islands and Universal before turning up at the airport at 7 pm.

As the flight home then wasn't till 10.30 pm we had no problem resting on the plane because it was our night time and as a result we had NO jet lag for the first time ever. We were well chuffed.

I am hoping for another delay coming back this year.

thanks - we're not driving & are in universal hotel at the end of the holiday, but will just store luggage at hotel & squeeze the last few hours in the parks before i start to cry!!!!
we have a town car booked so not tied to any transfers :)

Hi Kimwin,
I was just about to post same question when I saw this thread -thanks!! We have a town car booked as well, so it looks as though I should ask them to pick us up about 3 and a half hours before flight. i'll be crying then as well!
Hoping to do on line check-in but I get quite nervous and would rather get to airport in plenty time!

Ann :)
