Flying from PHL in May - Help!

Can anyone share any tips for booking airfare? We just made ressies for POR for $74 a night (AP) and now we can't find any decent flights. Either the price is too high or the times are inconvenient.

I tried USAir.com & Southwest.com

Are you north of the city? If so, I would suggest checking South East Airline out of Allentown (ABE). Their website is www.flyseal.com and they have a bunch of $69 each way flights into Sanford Airport. Also, how bargain are you looking? I found our flights out of PHL on USAir for $158 each + tax ($176 total which is great for PHL - MCO!!!) and they still had alot of availability at that price as of this morning. I keep checking prices to get a voucher if the prices go down.

Good luck! I'm jealous of your AP rate. I only got the room only summer rate for CS -- $20 more per night.

Hi...I booked our airfare out of PHL for May 8-15...we are on US Air and I got $206 pp inc. taxes, etc. I booked in November, though, but using the US Air website. We fly out really early in the a.m. and come home late in the p.m. so that may have helped in the cost too.

We actually live in the Allentown area, and I couldn't find a decent deal from LVIA to save my life! I tried SEAL, but their times really stink.

From what I understand, Southwest is supposed to be flying out of PHL come May too. Try their website and see if they are flying out during your time.

We are also staying at POR....when will you be there??

we'll wave to ya on our way in!

We actually have US Air miles to cash in but the flight times are bad. The Saturday night flights arrive at about 10:30 pm. that's a whole day in the park wasted!

Okay, we booked AirTran - $189 pp and we really like our flight times!

Hoping we have better luck with Airtran than we did two years ago!

Does anyone know what is up w/ Southwest? I've been trying to get a flight in June and every date I put in states there are no flights available??? Do they only fly certain days...I'm confused!

When are you going? Are you flying out of Philly? I just looked on the SW website and randomly picked June 13-18 and saw $69 each way fares!!! I wish I could get those from Columbus! (Plus the ONLY return from MCO to CMH is at 7:45 a.m. .... ylllk!!!)

I have had trouble finding cheap fares on SW out to Oakland in June, because we are trying to fly around Father's Day. Could that be the problem?

They're only flying a few times per day per route from what I've seen. I checked a few random dates in May and June any many of them are sold out.

I just saw that SW air's featured destination was Walt Disney World. They have some great rates from all over the US. It's worth checking again. Also, if you don't find what you're looking for online, it never hurts to call and talk to an agent.

Finally got a rate like someone mentioned 6/13-6/17 on SW...but looked at USAIR & guess what!?! Exact same price...so I took it instead. This way seats are selected AND the times are better. 8:05 flight to MCO and 4:40 flight out to PHL. Plus more Frequent flyer miles....Seems they are matching SW flights at the same price.....hope they keep it up. For the 2 of us it came to $313 total!!!
