I have been watching the flights out of BOS and PVD for May, and I am not impressed. Will these come down or should I buy now? We are looking roughly around 5/7-5/8 to 5/14-5/15. We have drove before and was not to bad, but we don't have the time this trip. Thanks for any help

I am having the same issue with airfare prices from Boston to Orlando in April.

I am hoping the prices come down but they seem to be stuck high..maybe due to increase in gas prices.

Last Year I drove to Manchester NH and found reasonable fare from Manchester to Florida.

Good Luck

We always go in April for school vacation, but figured it would be ALOT cheaper to pull the kids from school for a week. It really is not saving us much, if anything we could have gone midweek to to midweek for less than in MAy. Good luck to you also

We are travelling those dates and taking Jet Blue. We fly out 5/7 ns to MCO arrives 9pm and returning on 5/15 ns to BOS arrives 7pm. We paid 1K for the 3 of us. I was not thrilled with that but I've been checking and the flight cost has only gone up since we booked a few weeks ago. Also no charge for 1st checked bag on JB so that helps.

For us it was cheaper to fly in later on 5/8 and stay an extra day at POP on the end of our trip than to fly in early on 5/8 and leave on 5/14.

I prefer JetBlue and usually end up paying more than the cheapest fare since I will only book ns for such a short trip and I also refuse to fly on those 6am flights - mainly because my daughter gets motion sickness if she flies on an empty stomach but also because we would have to get up too early and would be exhausted for our first day.

In my experience, Delta and Air Tran frequently change flight times and cancel/rearrange flights. I can't deal with that. Southwest has no ns flights BOS to MCO so we usually default to JB.

Good luck - see you there!!!

it's pretty safe to assume that jetblue will have a sale at some point. But, if you book your tickets, and the price comes down on Jetblue, they will credit the difference. That is a credit, not an actual refund. It works for me becuase I travel a lot. I booked for my upcoming trip in October. Not overly thrilled with the fare but it was reasonable, just not the lowest I've enjoyed. Since that time, jetblue has had 2 sales and each time I have called and gotten the difference refunded. One time it was reduced about $40/person (5 of us traveling) and the other time it was $15/person. Brought the fare down to less than $200 per person RT. If you think you have a fare you can live with if it does not come down, buy and hope for a sale and you'll get the credit. Obviously, you'd need to be able to use the credit within the time frame which I believe is 1 year.

I used Yapta (yapta_dot_com) to enter my flight criteria and to monitor prices as they rose and fell. When they were at a low point, I decided to buy. We are flying from Logan on 1/22.
Yapta won't tell you when they're going to go down, but you can decide what price is good enough for you and have an alert sent when that price is reached, if ever.

Good luck!

Is there a website that monitors your existing fare and alerts you when it goes down? I know there is one for cruises, I think it was cruiseshark or something like that. Anyone know of one for airfares? I have been checking JB for a price drop but not daily. A credit would come in handy next trip.

What are the prices you are finding? If I find direct/non-stop flights for my desired times under $250 I get them. I flew last May and I believe I ended up with around $200 per person RT on SW.

Wanted to add...also factor in the price of parking b/w BOS and PVD. There is a HUGE difference. PVD is much cheaper. The last time we flew from PVD we did the stay, park, fly from the Hilton Garden Inn. It included a full breakfast the morning of our flight. It was awesome!

You found non stop on SW BOS to MCO?

Nope...PVD. That is another reason I prefer PVD. However, this November and December I flew BOS to MCO non stop on AirTran. Even with the fees they were still cheaper than SW.

I think the age of finding lots of cheap tickets maybe ending!

The ecomony is slowly getting better(very slowly), the number of flights are down and the passingers are up.

I did get a very good price $158.00 round trip, in May, Hartford CT to MCO, but I booked last July.

Lots of luck!...............take the train?

Wow - that is sooo cheap! Nice deal for you. If that is non stop, don't tell me, lol.

Sharona............psst........whispering...........It is non stop!...Delta!:cool1:

That why I took the chance so far in advance and locked it in.
