Couldn't get Buffalo to work for us, we're in Mississauga, so we are flying out of Detroit DTW.

$475.00 USD on Spirit for four of us non-stop return from Orlando MCO.

Any tips or experiences parking at the 'Big Blue Deck" at DTW.

Used it last year and will be using it again this year. Easy to enter and exit. Lots of parking. We walked from our car to the terminal (didn't bother to wait for shuttle) and it only took about five minutes. Just remember to write down where you parked so you can find your vehicle when you come back.

I notice you're in London. Do you cross the border at Detroit(bridge or tunnel) or Port Huron ?

We are flying out of Detroit in late Sept and will be crossing through Port Huron. Mind you we're staying at my parents house in Sarnia and then going and staying at the Westin the night before we fly out.

We always go through Sarnia/Port Huron. 402 is a much better drive than the 401. Way less traffic. The border is easy to access and cross. However, this summer it has been really busy. I usually go over once per month to shop. On July 8th (Sunday afternoon) it was a three hour wait to cross. This past Sunday it was a two hour wait. It used to only be about 15 minutes. Not sure why it is so much slower, either more traffic for summer holidays or the US Customs is getting more sticky. This August our flight leaves at 11:40 am and we plan on leaving london at 6:00 am. It is about an hour to Sarnia and an hour and 15 minutes to Detroit from the border. Hopefully there will be no line at 7:00 am but we are leaving plenty of time just in case.

Oh my... I had quite the opposite experience there 2 weeks ago... I spent 4 hours at that hole... Starting with being stopped to get to the toll booth at the "Welcome to Sarnia" sign on the 402.
Two hours later, we're at the toll booth.
One hour later, we're over the bridge in line at customs.
After NOT being asked where I'm going, purpose of my trip, how long, etc, I'm immediately handed a yellow slip marked "other" with my passport and sent under the canopy for secondary search.
90 minutes later I get to the desk for the secondary search. The customs officer is less than pleasant and takes my keys for the car search. I'm instructed to have a seat.
An eternity later, I'm being be-rated for having a photo-copy of my vehicle ownership in my car (lesson to you all, take your original on your border crossings)...

I will never go back there again!
