Does anybody fly to WDW from CA? Either Nor Cal or So Cal would be ok. If so, where do you go to get the best deals on flights?? Thanks :thumbsup2

Doesn't matter where I'm starting or ending - I use kayak.com. It's NOT a travel agency, it doesn't sell anything. It simply provides comparison fares; they get paid from the end-service providers when the (potential) customer clicks through to the provider site and makes a purchase.

Sidestep is similar, and operates the same way.

DLR --- We just got back from 3 weeks at WDW and the DCL. We flew out of OAK for $116 and back into SMF for $99 on Southwest. The flights were great and either exactly on time or early. AND we didn't have to pay for our luggage!

When are you going?

We're going in June. Wow! Those are great deals! When did you book them?

We find the best prices from SoCal out of LAX, often on non-stops. We have paid as little as $119 RT (all in, including taxes) and are genally happy with anything under than $300 all in.

I have also flown out of Nor Cal and tend to find the cheapest prices out of San Jose and Sacramento, but often find the same prices out of SFO or OAK. I have seen about $230 for flights last Fall out of SJC, all in and maybe $10 less out of SMF.

I find the best prices come and go and timign its everything. I set farewatchers with travelocity and anytime remotely interesting comes up, I look at all possible days and options. If I am travelling on a route I don't fly often, farecast under the travel section of bing.com gives me an idea of historical prices.

I haven't flown in June, but often find that I have to wait until August to get the best deals for travel in the Fall. -- Suzanne

We booked our flights in August or September -- it was about the time that the airlines started raising the airfare because of "gas" prices. But the best part about SW is that if you find a lower fare [through SW] you can change your flight. They won't "refund" your money, but they hold it in a travel account.

After our initial reservation, we changed the price of our flight four times. We actually even changed airports.

I don't know how flexible you are on airports, but we have three and maybe four to choose from. I looked yesterday for airfare in August. I looked at SMF, SFO, and OAK. They changed planes in LAS. Each fare was different but they all met at LAS and the same plane goes from LAS to MCO. You just have to shop it.

If you need help, just email me. I don't know everything about the airline industry, but I know how to work it. :cool1:

We either fly out of Oakland or San Francisco. I start my search on Kayak.com and then check Southwest and Jetblue.

For our March trip, I found the air fare prices to be completely unreasonable. It actually worked out to be less expensive than buying a coach class ticket, to use some FF miles on American I had, plus buy a few hundred more to fly 1st class. Yeay! :yay:
