My daughter and I are going to Mexico in March and the flights from Buffalo seem to be much cheaper. I know people go the night before, stay at a hotel, and then leave their vehicle at the hotel while they are gone. Can anyone recommend a reasonably pleasant but cheap hotel where we could stay, and give me an idea of how much it would cost to leave my car there for the week?

I can recomend Holiday Inn Express on Buell Ave ... BUT it's not Cheap!!
we are paying $149.00 for Stay, Go and Park (or something like that)
We can leave the car there for up to 2wks.
THis will be our second stay there.
The Hotel is CLEAN, NEW & CLEAN!!
And right across the street from the airport.

Try Park sleep fly website it has all the hotels with special rates for hotel and parking some include breakfast and shuttle to the airport.

We stayed at the Millenium

Is breakfast included here?

We really enjoyed the Homewood Suites by Hilton. I believe it was either $129 or $149 [can't remember] that included the night stay, DINNER [it was okay, the salad bar was very good] and BREAKFAST [that was EXCELLENT], PARKING for 2 weeks and awesome INDOOR POOL! It is all suite, so you get TWO ROOMS, we had a fireplace too. And AIRPORT SHUTTLE. I would definately stay there again. S

yes Breakfast is included ... I can't remember what they had for breakfast.
I know that some people have reported that they actually pack you breakfast if you leave before they start serving it.

I'm planning a girls shopping weekend, do you have any idea what the price would be without parking? And where is it located?

i think the price is the same, parking is included but not cheaper without.

If you don't mind me asking, which airline are you flying with and what part of Mexico?

Regarding hotel, we stay at the Comfort Suites on Dick Road, but since their rate has gone from 89US to 149US I am going to start looking elsewhere. It is a nice place but pretty pricey now.
shuttle, parking, breakfast, indoor pool, hot tub, each room sleeps 6 and includes a small fridge and I think a microwave oven. Rooms are dark but clean.

We also stayed at Homewood Suites on Dick Road in October. We got the three room suite for $179.00. One room had a king size bed, The other had 2 queens, and the livingroom had a pull out couch. Two bathrooms. The living area was also quite large. It had a full kitchen with all dishes and free popcorn and coffee and tea, with a note saying to contact front desk for replacements. We rented a movie for our boys and they sent up extra popcorn for us all. My kids loved this hotel. They had a great time running around the rooms. I think this suite was larger than my brother and sister in law's first 2 room bedroom apartment. We would stay here again. The price was a little high, but we split it with my parents, so it was cheaper than getting 2 regular hotel rooms anyway. I will also be planning a girls weekend shopping and we will stay here aswell.

I also have stayed at the Millenium. I have mixed reviews of this hotel. I have stayed here 3 times within the last year. The first 2 times were okay. The last in April 2007 was a nightmare. I think they need to spend big bucks on this hotel to refurbish. It is very old. I use to stay here when it was a Sheraton and it was beautiful. Now, I am not so sure I would stay here again.

I also find if you book your hotel room out 2 months or so before you have to go, you get a better rate than booking closer to your date. I always watch prices on the internet and if the price for the room goes down, I call the hotel direct and get that better price.

I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn this weekend - I'll let you know how it was when I get back. It's apparently right by the airport.

we just booked a 1 night stand at the Ramada and paying $89 U.S. for the hotel as well as park and fly for the week we are gone.

I've stayed at both within the last year, and vastly prefer the Homewood Suites. (We first stayed at the Homewood Suites based on a DISer's recommendation, and have returned a couple of times, as have other family members. Great value for nicely furnished and modern rooms, decent pool, good quality & large breakfast buffet, and free parking. We needed three cars parked there for over 2 weeks, and they didn't even blink at this. They have also happily held packages, allowing us to have gifts and online shopping waiting for our checkin.

I got the Millenium on a Priceline bid for a business trip, and in hindsight, I should have paid the slightly higher price for the guaranteed quality and amenities of the Homewood. My problem was that I needed to take the first available shuttle to the airport from the Millenium (runs on a schedule with front desk sign up), but had issues with getting my breakfast first :-(.

We've had a range of prices for the Homewood, from $89 for a one bedroom in off season (May) to over $200 for a two bedroom in high season (late Dec), and have always been happy.

NikP, the Homewood Suites website doesn't mention suites with 1 king and 2 queens, just 1 king and 2 doubles. Are you certain they were queens?

A co-worker just got back from WDW yesterday and flew from Buffalo for the first time. They spent the night prior at the Days Inn. Not good. :sad2: I've heard good things about the Holiday Inn Express though.
