So we always fly out of buffalo but this time we are going to Ft Lauderdale and unfortunately Presidents week :scared1:

For the first time EVER i have seen, it is actually a bit cheaper for us to fly out of TO.. The wanna get away fares were released yesterday and i hoped to get return for around $250-300 PP.. Well they have no wanna get away for our dates, and only full price of $321, $341 rates... So it comes in at at over $650 USD.

I compared the Pearson which would fly direct to Miami and it is a little higher but in Canadian dollars. Now i don't know if i should wait for a sale or just book Toronto

I have flown out of BUffalo in the past too. For our upcoming trip on November 28 it was cheaper to fly with Air Transat out of Pearson than going to BUffalo. The 28th is the Sunday ending the US Thanksgiving weekend.

Sounds like it's a timing thing..you're being affected by US holidays...too bad...but maybe it would be easier to just go the Pearson route if you live closer to TO. Driving to the Buffalo airport is probably only worth it if you are saving a bundle.

For sure, it depends on the date.
We are flying to Orlando, return from 155.00 per person in November.
This is WAY cheaper than Pearson, including driving, parking for a week and a hotel stay the night before for convenience (not required for us, but we will do it).

Totally depends on dates. I was able to get our March break dates out of BUF for one-third that of Pearson (on JetBlue).

It absolutely depends on dates. Avoid US holidays and flying on weekends. If you can fly from Wednesday to Wednesday you are all but guaranteed to get the lowest prices.

I was lucky to keep watching Air Canada for that week and get $189pp each way. The cheepest I have seen to Orlando from TO since I went in 2000. With taxes it ended up being just under $500 pp.

For me it was worth it to drive the 45 minutes to the airport instead of the two hours to Buffalo. Not to mention if there is snow to deal with. I would keep watching the flights out of TO, it worked for me.

Try Bing Fare predictor. It runs the data on all the flights avaiable for your dates and either advises you to "wait" or "buy now".
For example I missed a big southwest sale for our dates by one day:headache:
We were only one month away from the trip so I was afraid I was going to have to pay the really high prices. Someone suggested Bing and it told me to wait with an 80% chance of my flights going down. I checked every day and voila.. they dropped for a direct flight at excellent times with Jetblue and I paid 740 return for 4 of us.:goodvibes
The service is free and checks all major airlines so it's worth a look anyway.:):)
