flying from BUF to MCO

I've never seen any comments on this site about problems with peoples cars no matter where they parked it. These hotels do not want your car broken into any more than you do. There is nothing to stop someone from driving onto the airport lot and breaking into cars then paying and leaving the lot. If someone wants to break into your car bad enough they will no matter where you park it.

Sleep Inn uses 2 diiferent parking lots. One lot is the airport loat accross the street and the second lot is at the owners other company (public storage) down the street from the hotel.

Unfortuantly we got this other lot when we stayed at Sleep Inn. We had my inlaws van. If we didn't I would have paid to park at the airport. (We stayed there September 2008) I will not stay at this hotel again. I also had trouble with the Sleep Inn shuttle from the airport. I had to call them 3 times to come and get us. Took them over an hour! We could have walked there quicker.

We stay at The Millenium or Homewood Suites. The parking lots are not gated, but have lots of traffic and high visibility areas.

thanks for the tip....but would you be concern about your car parked ? is the lot in the hotel or just somewhere with no gates etc ?

not that we are driving a MB or Lexus etc, just that I can't imagine when we got back with 2 young kids with no car...you know what I mean..
Methinks you're a little over-cautious in this.
You'll be fine.

Same with us........bad experience with Sleep Inn parking.......long shuttle waits- terrible muddy/snowy parking lot- had to push van out......shuttle driver tossed all our luggage out of van down into mud puddles...while we were pushing our van over snow banks trying to get unstuck. Have figured out many times and the hotels all seem to charge pretty close to what you pay to park at the airport- it is never "free" with the hotel......unless you are at the Marriot it seems......there was a whole thread on using priceline for there and parking....

Last year we saw a car parked in the long term A lot with it's back window smashed out. The glass was all over the ground around the back of the car. Could you imagine your car sitting there for a week without a window :scared1: I hope the lot guys tried to cover it up. They are usually REALLY nice.

MY DH works in the auto biz and said that it's rather unlikely that a thief caused the damage. Plus, the car was parked right in the end spot in the first lane as you enter the lot.....a highly visible spot.

I thought about going down the night before just that wife would not let me park the car at the hotel , she thinks parking at the BUF airport is more secure which mean I would pay like $ 60 for hotel and another $ 60 for parking...(point is wasted the free parking offer with the hotel..) ..

anyone can share experience with park n fly from a hotel offer ?

The hotels don't usually offer free parking. The rates for hotel and parking are in the $120 range. Many include breakfast as well. You also have to watch for how many days parking they are including.

If you watch for special rates at the hotels you can often get a cheap room...maybe $50 and then use the airport parking lot with the $48 coupon. We also prefer to use the airport lot so this works better for us. We are usually off the plane and on the road home in under 30 minutes.

Howdy neighbour!

I have friends, also from Markham, who book the Park, Sleep, Fly hotels (google the web site) whenever they travel (at least 3 times in recent memory and again this March). They have never had a problem. In fact, once they left an interior light on in the van :rolleyes1 and arrived to find a dead battery. Hotel security helped them out quickly with a boost and got them on their way home.

I know it becomes a comfort issue and that things "happen" sometimes but truthfully, I can't see the airport being any different.

When we fly from Toronto we stay in the long term airport parking which is "fenced in" but frankly its out in the elements and anyone could just walk in...

Have a great trip no matter what you decide!

Hmmm, well you have me thinking.....we leave from Newmarket and our flight is at 1:30. Plan was always to leave Wdensday morning provided weather was clear.

Last year we stayed at the Marriott - it was wonderful! Comfy beds, nice indoor pool, and a bit further from the airport but no sounds of planes all night. Left the van in their parking lot which is right out front of the front door and right on a highway for 10 days no issues. Parking is free. Givne parking will be around $50, if I can get a room for the same proce on priceline - I'm going for it. Then we can have a relaxing morning, breakfast at the hotel, and no fear of back-ups at the bridge.

Buffalo airport is amazing to fly out of FYI. Much smaller than Toronto and you are flying domestic so no customs!!

Tower >> Thanks for posting the link for a coupon off parking at the Buffalo airport!

BUFFALO IS A LOT EASIER THAN TORONTO. WE LIVE IN NIAGARA ON THE LAKE AND IT TAKES US 45 MIN. FROM THE DOOR TO TERMINAL. WE ALWAYS GO OVER PEACE BRIDGE. WE HAVE DONE BOTH PARKED IN AIRPORT AND PARKED AT SALVATORES HOTEL AND LEFT VEHICLE THERE IF WE HAD EARLY FLIGHT WHICH YOU DONT. WHEN WE STAY OVERNIGHT THEY SHUTTLE US OVER TO TERMINAL THEY KEEP KEYS AND WHEN IT SNOWS THEY CLEAR SNOW. THE PLACE IS USUALLY VERY FULL. IF YOU PARK IN AIRPORT LONGTERM I THINK ITS 58 DOLLARS A WEEK. AND THE SHUTTLE IS VERY GOOD. WHEN YOU GET BACK THEY DROP YOU OFF AT YOUR CAR. BUT IF YOU GET LOTS OF SNOW I USUALLY LEAVE SHOVEL IN VEHICLE TO CLEAR AROUND CAR. A YEAR AGO IN DEC THERE WAS ABOUT A FOOT OF SNOW IN MY DRIVEWAY HERE IN NIAGARA ON THE LAKE, OUR FLIGHT WAS FOR MON MORNING ALL FLIGHTS WERE CANCELLED SUN. OUR FLIGHT GOT OUT ONTIME ON MON. TORONTO WAS STILL HAVING DELAYS. WE JUST FLEW 2 WEEKS AGO THERE MID MORNING AND IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 15 min THRU SECURITY. YOU HAVE GONE THRU CUSTOMS AT THE BORDER. YOU SHOW PASSPORT AND TICKETS AND THEN GO THRU SCANNERS. BY THE WAY THEY HAVE AN ANCHOR BAR RESTAURANT IN THE TERMINAL FANTASTIC WINGS.
