We dined at the Flying Fish on 6/5 and I HAD to come on and give my quick review! We were amazed at how great everything was there! Our server was Mikael, who was fabulous, gave us descriptions of everything and offered some suggestions.
My DH and I both had wine flights (Italian Red and a Pinot flight) then had a glass with dinner. Our server made sure we were happy with the selections and offered to change them if we didnt like them. I was so upset I forgot my camera but for appetizers we had the mussels and a caesar salad. The mussels were amazing, my DH couldn't stop dipping the bread in the sauce! Caesar was different (they use capers in the dressing) but he liked it anyways!
For entrees I had the Potato wrapped snapper which reminded me of a high class fried fish. The two sauces under it (one creamy and one red) went perfectly. My DH had the Char-crusted Certified Black Angus New York Strip Steak which was better than the steak at the Yachtsmen! It was blackened on the outside but cooked a perfect medium rare on the inside. He ate every last piece and even ordered a side of risotto to try. There were tons of peas in it (which he hates) but it tasted so good he ate it all!
Dessert I had a trio of boardwalk favorites which included a popcorn mousse topped with caramel popcorn, a chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie with a couple "french fries" made out of pound cake with strawberry sauce as ketchup and a cherry-limeade popsicle. The popcorn mousse was out of this world!! DH had the banana napoleon and a cappucino martini.
We had a 2 yr old with us and the atmosphere was great for kids, everyone was so friendly and when she needed a quick break one of us took her out onto the boardwalk or into the grassy courtyard to burn off some energy! Her meal was mickey macaroni with a cheese sauce. She loved it!! It had a ton of cheese (which our server offered to swap out for us because he didn't think she liked it). For dessert she had the mickey puzzle. It was great to entertain her while we enjoyed our dessert.
We ate at the Yachtsmen and Le Cellier during this trip and hands down the Flying Fish was the best Signature experience out of them all.
