I voted for Yachtsman, but it is a very close call between the two. Our service at both has been outstanding. The food is very, very good at both restaurants. In fact, we are doing both during our May trip this year.
At Yachtsman last trip 4 of us got the filet, med rare, (cooked perfectly) and our DD got some sort of kids meal. The side of mushrooms was huge and really good-our family could have shared them. The lobster bisque was wonderful and creamy. I got some sort of chilled seafood salad that was very good. One of my sons got the ceasar salad and it was well, a ceasar salad, but it looked good! I can't remember our desserts, but we all ate them so they must have been good. I ordered the wine pairings with most of my courses and they were fantastic. DH just drank beer. The service was probably the best our entire trip, and we ate at several signatures.
At Flying Fish, I have to say that my two favorite dishes are the snapper and the NY strip. The fish is just delicious and the steak is char-crusted and has this wonderful sauce on it. I'm always torn about which dish to order and then I'll see a special on the menu and be torn some more! Wine pairings are very good. I ordered some drink last time we ate there that I hated-I thought it tasted like Robitussin. When the CM came over I orderd another drink. He asked if I was unhappy with the one I had and I told him yes, but it was my fault for ordering it. He insisted on taking it off the bill even though DH told him that he would drink it (he did NOT think it tasted like Robitussin). He gave the drink to DH, but took it off anyway. All of our meals were cooked perfectly and everything was very good. The CM was wonderful with our DD7 who was only 5 at the time. He told her about the restuarant decorations, brought her out some cheese and fruit, gave her princess coloring pages, asked her if she liked her food...just wonderful service.
I really don't think you can go wrong with either place.
