I'm looking for some opinions here please! ;) All my ADRs are made with the exception of the evening that we'll be hanging out at the hotel for some "down time". We'll be staying at the Dolphin and the parties involved are me, DH, and DS (who's 2). I've narrowed it down to the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk or Palio at the Swan (both easy walking distance of course). We've been to the Flying Fish before (though not with DS) and really enjoyed it. We've never been to Palio but I've read some great things about it. Also unsure if one would be better than the other for DS. Opinions? Which would you do?

Both are good but it really depends on what type of food you prefer. We love Flying Fish for seafood and Palio's for Italian. Palio's serves many children and the waiters seem great with younger ones (making animals from straws, etc). Palio's serves a great chicken breast with parmesan cheese.

This is almost exactly what I was going to say - it just depends upon what kind of food you want. We regularly go to both restaurants on our trips to WDW and have had great food and service at both of them. And, I can vouch for the chicken breast with parmesan cheese - my daughters had it on our trip last month and really enjoyed it.

I agree with madalex and katallo--both are fine restaurants. And since you've never done Palio, why not give it a try?? And if you do, have a song or two in mind when the strolling musician comes around. Last trip there, when he asked what we wanted to hear, Mrs. U suggested a Sinatra song she likes--Isle of Capri. And wouldn't you know--he knew it!! He then went to the next table (where there was a young couple) and played Bella Notte from Lady and the Tramp.
