I thought I would share our dining experiences from last week. We ahd our first dinner at Shutter's at CBR since we were staying there and it was our first night. DD (12), DS (10) and I got the steak, and DH got Carribean pork ribs. The steak was pretty good, the mashed sweet potatoes were very good and the ribs were mediocre.
Second night was Boma - always wonderful at Boma! They had a sirloin roast instead of prime rib and it was outstanding! Everyone really enjoyed the corn and spinach pudding. Kids didn't want to try it, it had a funny texture, but it was delicious! And the desserts - yum!
Third night was our special dinner - Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk. This is my favorite restaurant ever! Every time we go back I worry that I've built it into something better than it actually is, but I am always so pleased by my experience there. The waitstaff is amazing, the wine fantastic and the food simply superb. I had tuna with asian mushrooms - fabulous! DH got a pork loin that was so tender you would have believed it was veal, and the sauce was delicious. DD and DS got a sirloin steak that was absolute perfection. I just love this place! They are so accomodating - DS wanted pasta instead of potato, no problem. The desserts were good, but not as outstanding as dinner. DS and I shared an apple crisp with ginger snap crust and DH and DD shared a chocolate peanut butter creation. I just cannot rave enough about this restaurant. If you are looking for one special meal, I highly recommend having it here.
Our last dinner was at DTD at T-Rex - how fun! It was not a nice day so we decided to venture to DTD and see what was available. We waited only 20 minutes for a table ( it was early for dinner, late for lunch) and had a really fun experience. The food was fine, but the place was pretty incredible. Rainforest Cafe on steriods! DD and I got spit roasted chicken: good, but the skin could have been crispier, DS got the ribs: I think was the best dinner on the table, DH got a filet: it was fine, how can mess up filet? Our waitress was very acommading and pleasant; but lets face it, you go to this place for the atmoshpere. I'm glad we gave it a try. We went from here to Cirque Du Soliel which was wonderful. All in all, a very fun afternoon/evening.
I hope I helped a few of you who are still trying to decide on one special place to go.
