We keep hearing great things about FF. DW met a WDW fanatic at work yesterday and FF was highly recommended. What do you think? Is it worth it for someone who may only eat a shrimp dish. My friend, Peter Pirate says the steak is good. Opinions please..

Eeyore, Captain Crook would agree if he were here, as well!;)

The FF has the one (very excellent) charred NY Strip on the Menu and it is as good as it gets! Shula's has the variety I'll grant you, but the FF also has a risotto that is spectacular (although served with fish).

Their salads are top-notch as well. The Ceasar is good, the Frisee salad is primo & just last week I tried their Pear & Endive salad...Again, scrumptious.

Go & enjoy... tell them the Captain sent you...

Eeyore, if you're going prior to Christmas, pm me with the dates...

PP,

You sound like me giving a Shula's review. We will probably try it but our trip is the last week February.

Hi Eyore, Our favorite restaurant is the Flying Fish! The new york strip is just fabulous, last time we were there I got the risotto with it, instead of the potato that usually comes on the side. They also have a wonderful pork chop... my dad was almost licking his plate he liked it so much! We are going in December with my mother-in -law, who is not a fish person, and I am not worried that she won't be able to find something she likes!

I honestly think the steak with foyot sauce is the BEST steak I have ever had! My husband agrees.
They don't have the pork chops anymore. BUT, they have a great pasta dish and the chicken with couscous is also fantastic. It's fun to sit at the bar right in front of the wood-burning grill. It's also fun to sit at the other bar if Anderson is working. Excellent food and excellent service, who could ask for anything more?
:p

montessori, I guess we don't agree on much at the Rumors Board, but we do here...Andy is the best, isn't he?:)

Hey Peter Pirate,
We have become good friends with John, a server at Flying Fish. He's a very professional server and really funny too.
He was nice enough to tell us we should be sitting at the bar with Andy. I think that's really great of John, we tip very well and he gave that up so we could have an even more fantastic experience at Flying Fish! I can't wait to go back. :p

Here is another vote for the seared NY strip at FF, it is wonderful!!!

Hubby and I were at Flying Fish last night (10/26). He was in the mood for steak and I was in the mood for scallops.

The steak was wonderful...we couldn't believe it. Comes with yukon gold potatoes and fresh green beans...this steak was better than steaks you get in most steak places.

I had the scallops with risotto and lemon grass...also wonderful. We had the wines the recommeded wines with the meal.

Flying Fish, still a winner in our books, even more so now, they can do steaks and sea food...amazing!

Ok Mitch now, FF or Shula's :teeth: ;)

Shula's has already been planned.

This would/will be an added delight.

Just chiming in for the family crowd. We felt very comfortable there with our DS3....Mickey Pasta was on the menu and now our DS wants to return there every trip. It's tentitively planned for our December trip!

Yet another vote for the strip steak with sauce foyot... it's the best I've ever had!
