We went to Flying Fish last night, and we were informed that they have discontinued the Valhrona (sp?) chocolate souffle!!!! I can't believe it. That was the best dessert on the property IMHO. Our waiter said that they had been passing messages to the chef asking him to add it back onto the menu. I am considering starting a campaign to get it brought back  Is anyone else game?!

If that is true then I will no longer be eating there. I thought our meal was good, but the dessert was outstanding. It was the one thing that tipped the scales in favor of my going back!

We were disappointed to find this out during our trip in June. It was our favorite dessert at WDW, too. But .. the chocolate sampler is even better!

I agree! :thumbsup2

DS had the chocolate souffle back at Christmas and I had kinda gotten Dniece's hopes up for it a few weeks ago when we went to Flying Fish, but alas it was no longer there. I know their menu does change somewhat frequently, so I wasn't shocked. So, Dniece opted for the Chocolate collection dessert and it was decadant and to die for! :thumbsup2 It consists of 3 mini chocolate offerings; a mini chocolate mousse, a mini chocolate strudel, and lemongrass chocolate tea (about the size of a jigger glass). She was a little put off by the cognac that is floated on top of the tea...we didn't know it was there, but when the chef told her what it was, her mom just mixed it all in together and she said it was tasty and allowed me a sip...it was tasty!!!

I guess for those of us who love the Valhrona chocolate souffle, we can (at least for now) find it in a very decadent chocolate lava cake at Cali Grill. Dniece and I had it for dessert there on this trip...yeah we are absolutely related! It is a delicious cake served with a scoop of Bing cherry ice cream that is made on site. The combo of the dark chocolate and cherry is heavenly! I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

It's true, I swear! We were soooo disappointed last night. We didn't order the chocolate sampler because it didn't sound as good to us. The tea thing sounded weird.

We are just hoping for the banana napoleon to make a reappearance. But the dessert we had there (the raspberry version of the napoleon) was so good that really, a menu change just means an excuse to try some other incredible dessert.
