All of our friends that we dine out with have told us about this gem. We just never seemed to be able to fit it into our schedules before. Wow, what we were missing!

We ate at the Flying Fish for the first time during our trip on Tuesday evening. We had a late lunch at Cinderella's for the kids, so we were by no means famished, so that reads no appetizer or salad... let's get straight to business.

I had the tuna, rare, over wasabi mashed potatoes with caviar mashed into it with a lobster sauce over it and fried onions. I have been dreaming about this meal ever since. My DH had the tilefish and loved it. We ordered dessert since once we saw the platter we couldn't resist. The kids had the fish and chips (blech!) and french onion soup. The soup was a little spicy for my DS's taste, but he finished it.

The second time we ate there was Saturday night. We had seen other tables being served the endive and pear salad with feta and honeyed walnuts on our first visit and it looked yummy. It is served with a very light basalmic vinegrette. It was delicious. I have attempted to make it at home since. I just have to make some adjustments to my vinegrette to make it better. I also have substituted blue cheese at home since my DH likes it better than feta.

Anyway, DH had the red snapper... their signature dish. He had his socks knocked off... DELICIOUS! I had the salmon filet, rare, with bacon spetzel. It was a unique combination that paired very well together. The kids had the Mickey pasta with butter and gobbled it down. Luckily, it doesn't take much to impress them.

Both nights, the received a fish-shaped game for finishing their meals.

If you haven't tried this restaurant, please do. It is so far off the charts above the Coral Reef that it's not funny. Although not an inexpensive meal choice, it is certainly worth the extra money. Besides, you're on vacation and nothing at WDW is inexpensive anyway.;)

My family has always enjoyed the Flying Fish. I just wish that the noice level was somewhat lower

We took my parents there on their last night in July. My dad is a notoriously picky steak eater--likes it RARE. He rated his steak among the top 3 he has had in his entire life (he is 72). My mom had the snapper and loved it. DH and I also had the steak and the kids had good meals--DD#1 (10) tried the kid's steak (Grandpa was paying--said if she didn't eat the whole thing she had to pay him back but she did!) and liked it. I also had the souffle dessert, can't remember the name, and got a creme brulee comped because it was for my BDay(I ended up sharing both with mom, dad and DH).

We'll be staying at BWV in Sept. FF sounds great for grownups but what about kids. We have 2 DS, 9 and 11. Would they be bored? I read about a list of things that the kids try to find - sounds fun. And it would be so convienent with staying at the Boardwalk. Let's hear what the kids thought. Thanks - Sue

I have heard rave reviews about FF and would love to try it. I do not care much for seafood so does anyone have any other suggestions??

Thanks for the reviiews! I am really looking forward to our dinner there in just 4 weeks!

We ate at Flying Fish last October for our anniversry dinner. The food was incredible, and we have been thinking about it ever since!

Our kids liked it very much. They gave activity sheets, but only had pencils for the kids to use. They told us that it's too hard to clean crayon marks off of their stainless steel tables.

We took their magic moments games for them to play while we were waiting, too. That helps abate boredom.

They really had no problems behaving and the other children around us didn't seem bored either.

Their NY Strip Steak with Sauce Foyot is the best I've ever had!
