I'm looking for opinions about the food at The Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk. Is it worth 2 TS credits?

WE didn't think so. We liked Spoodles twice as much for half the credits. The place smells like fish.
Limited menu, Plain fish rather than gussied up, the potato wrapped flounder just a thin layer of potato. Anise in the ravioli so couldn't order that. Chocolate souffle was like a fluffy brownie with a thin sabayon sauce.

However- we lived in the Pacific Northwest and then the Florida panhandle so that fresh fish is something we are used to and even Legal Seafoods doesn't impress us.

WE loved Spoodles but also loved Macaroni Grill and Carabbas because yummy italian/mediterranean is a treat for us.

We ate at FF last October and loved it (even over Yachtsman).
Didn't notice the 'fish odor' as the poster stated and I gag at even opening a can of tuna!

I loved the Flying Fish and feel it is very underrated. The food is wonderful. Recently I attended a conference in Orlando and went to FF with co workers. Everyone was impressed.

Don't know about 2 TS credits, but we love the FF, one of our favorites.

We eat there 3-4 times a year so we obviously feel it's a great place. I have never noticed a "fishy" smell in the 20 or so times we have been there.

It recently won an award for best seafood restaraunt in Central Florida.

I think it's worth 2TS but Spoodles is also good (was there 9 days ago and at the FF 2 nights later) but is not in the same category as FF.

That is simply my thoughts and other will disagree but you did ask for opinions.

Check out this thread. This should help.

Absolutely yes, the meal we had was our best meal ever at WDW over the past 10 years.

Thank you all for your replies. We are undecided between Flying Fish and Spoodles, but we are leaning towards Flying Fish. I wish there were time to try them all! :)

I love the food at FF. The potato wrapped snapper is so good. I've lived in South Florida my whole life and eat a lot of fish, and I love this restaurant. We've always had good service, and the atmosphere there is fun and whimsical but still nice.

we love flying fish and i agree--no fishy smell to me. here is a thought. we really like spoodles for breakfast; why not try them for that all important meal of the day~breakfast. that way you can dine at both! good luck!
