Flying Fish Cafe if not staying on-site?

I have reservations for Flying Fish Cafe on October 2 at 7:35. We are staying offsite at the JW Marriott and will have been at Sea World that day. Since we are not staying on site would we be better off to eat somewhere else in Orlando (near our hotel?) or keep the reservation? We also have a dolphin swim scheduled for the next morning (October 3).

Thanks in advance,
Connie

FF is a great restaurant and well worth a visit. Not staying on site is not a reason not to go there.

I agree. Keep the reservation! FF is a great dining experience and a stroll around the BW afterward adds to the enjoyment.

I was going to mention some of what the other posters did. If you would like to stroll around the BW after dinner and make a night of it, then go for FF. Yes, the food and atmosphere is very good and very nice there.

I'm not sure I would make the trip from where you are staying though just to have dinner and leave. I'd definitely walk along the BW, check out some of the BW entertainment. Maybe check out Illuminations' fireworks up by the bridge if you are finished eating at that time. We usually stroll all around the lake and sit on the swings at the BC and sometimes do some window shopping at the stores there.

We usually do this for one of nights when we stay at WDW. We have dinner at one of the BW resort restaurants (many times it's been FF which we do really like) and then we do what I mentioned above.;)

Oh and if you get a sudden burst of energy after dinner, you can even rent a surrey bike and work it off LOL!!

What jwfla422 said! We love FF, probably our favorite signature along with Citricos. Hope you enjoy your evening.

Where is the best place to park for this restaurant? I know we can park at the Boardwalk Inn and get a 3 hour parking pass but will that be long enough if we want to walk around the Boardwalk area? Are there the same parking limitations at the Swan or Dolphin?

Connie

Nevermind about the Swan/Dolphin idea. Just read another thread about that and won't even consider it.

I think we will be fine parking at the Boardwalk Inn in the resort parking with a parking pass.

You can park at the Boardwalk. Just tell them at the guard shack that you have reservations at Flying Fish. I've done this many times and I've never had a proble.

We've parked there for dinner (though not at the Flying Fish...at Spoodles...which is now Cat Kora's place) before. They give you a 3 hour parking pass, but I talked to the guard at the shack about it because, after dinner, we wanted to enjoy the Boardwalk and hit Atlantic Dance. We planned on spending more than 3 hours there. He said not to worry about it....they issue the passes to discourage people from using the lots as theme park lots. He noted "something" on his list and away we went.

We were there for about 5 or 6 hours (dinner at 5:30...I think we left around midnight) and had no problems.
