Flying Fish a "victim" of DDP?

We have only eaten at the FF twice. Once 2 1/2 years ago, and it was one of the best meals we'd ever had at WDW in over 10 years of going each year. And then again this past Easter. Food was not as good. Bread was way over cooked. Hard as a rock, and more like toast. Fish (Sabel Fish???) was like mush. Flavor was good, but no texture at all.

I've always suspected that the food option packages, has been one of the main reasons for the overall downfall in food quality at WDW. I thought, however that the fact that FF and the other signature - 2 Table Meal restaurants would be immune from the quality drop off, because the majority of people on the food option packages, do their best to stretch their meal dollars, and avoid having to give up 2 TS meals on one dinner. The change in Chef a few months ago might have been the problem. I just don't know.

No, it is just that STUFF HAPPENS. If people don't like STUFF, they feel the need to place blame for STUFF, regardless of actual culpability. It's just human nature.

Yes you can definitely blame the DDP and the push to make the WDW experience more like a mass market cruise -- all inclusive. It even looks like they'll change the DDP to a food included, tip extra plan -- exactly like a cruise.

Declines in food quality don't just happen -- they happen for a reason -- to reduce costs and bring expenses in line with the reimbursement rate for the DDP.

To Paul in CT:

You may very well be right since I never had a chance to try it! (:
Your post did not imply that it was r/t the DDP.
