Has anyone ever flown by themselves?? If so from where to where? How old where you?? and did you have a non stop flight or not?? did you like flying by yourself or not??

I have flown with my brother from Arizona to Utah, and my mom just picked us up at the airport. I was 7 (my brother was 8), and my aunt was a flight attendent and put us on a direct flight. The flight attendents were really nice and always made sure we were OK.

I have. :upsidedow
Quite a few times now actually.

1. I flew from California to Massachusetts and back.
2. I was 13 the first time I flew alone.
3. The first time I flew it wasn't non stop, we stopped three times :headache:, however I never had to get off the plane. The second time I flew alone I had a layover. It was really scary at first but it wasn't as hard as I thought. You just can't be afraid to ask for help or directions.
4. Well, I was freaked out the first time but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I don't mind it now.

(If you have more questions feel free to ask me. ;))

Thanks!! I dont know quite yet if im going to yet or not!! But i really want to not so much fly alone but travel somewhere!! I dont mind flying so i dont think i will mind flying alone!! If i go im going next summer some time!! The only thing im not sure about is my layer(s) and i know i will have at least one because where i want to go you have to have at least one from where i live!! it wont be bad if im in the same terminal just have to change planes but not sure about switching terminals!! since in all the times i have flown with my family we havent had any layovers except once but i was only 7 then!! and expecaiilly since i have never ever been to where i want to go or any of the airports they have for choices for layovers!!

but still dont know if im going or not!! have to persuade my parents to let me go first!!

I've flown to Philadelphia from Detroit round-trip twice, when I was 13 and 14.
And I've flown to the British Virgin Islands alone when I was 15.
It's really nbd at all.

I sort of flew by myself from South Africa to Australia..
We were flying staff and there were only 2 seats left.. so my mum took first class and i went economy.. which i had no objections against of course! (My dad was flying the plane so we just wanted to get home with him! haha)
I was probably 9 or 10 at the time.

I have done so about three times
1. I went to New York City with my orchestra. I had to check in all by myself, and it was perfectly fine.
2. I went to LA pretty much by myself. It was with a teacher and another student, but we had to check in by ourselves again.
3. Last year I went to Indianapolis with another student, but we were pretty much by ourselves, no adults present. We were able to find everything just fine

It was always three flights, going from the airport to either Minneapolis or Denver, then our destination. We were all fine, and it worked out perfectly. If you've flown before, you should be fine.

Thanks for the help so far!!!

okay got a question for all of you guys!! How did you guys persuade your parents to let you fly alone?? Especially if your budget is tight?? What are some ways to raise some good $$$ besides getting a job because im to young, I do babysit every once in a while and all that $$ goes toward that but that doesnt even come close to the cost of a ticket, if you wondering i want to be able to go like beginning of July like the 9th or so, i wanted to go sooner to be there for a birthday but the prices get high because of the holiday and as of right now of prices are around $530 which means if i dived it by months i need about $60 a month!!! ): thats buying them by May!!

I haven't yet but I'll sort of be flying by my self next June, I'm going to be going Seattle to New York but it's a Delta flight and close family friends of ours are pilots for Delta so there going to be bidding for the flight and one of them is the topped ranked pilot for Delta right now he's getting his name on a airplane haha :). So there's a good chance he will be flying the plane and will be checking on me with the flight attendants throughout the flight so he'll be there and my parents trust him with all there hearts so it should be good. Also a couple of girls from my dance team will probably be on the flight but in areas so I'll have them also.

Yes.
I flew from my hometown to Detroit and back by myself.
I think I was 15.
I really liked it because it was a peaceful flight. I flew at night time and had my ipod so nobody really bothered me.
When I got to the airport my grandpa helped me through security and so did my sister, so I just had to walk on the plane by myself and sit through the flight until I got to my destination. :goodvibes

I was 19 and I flew from LAX to Honolulu, and back, by myself... twice in one year.
It was scary the first time, but it was an amazing experience and I felt so responsible and free.

I flew from Philadelphia to Texas and from there got on a flight to Oklahoma it was a few months ago a day after my 17th birthday it was ok I mean who really likes sitting on a plane all day (I'm terribly afraid of planes I absolutely hate) them! My first flight I had someone sitting next to me (I was hoping because it was a wensday their wouldnt really be anybody traveling I'm not really a people person) but they didnt really talk to me and I just read my book and slept the second flight had next to no one on it and I had a whole row of seats to myself so I put my legs up and slept the whole time.

The first time I flew 100% by myself was this past May when I was 18 - I was flying from Dallas to Washington D.C. I wasn't nervous or anything since I'm very familiar with flying - my first plane ride was when I was 4 months old, and I've flown pretty regularly since then.

My junior year of high school (I was 16) my band went to Orlando, and I had to check myself in. That turned out to be a disaster because the lady who printed me my ticket was mad that the line was so long so early in the morning (the whole band of 130+ people was waiting to check in and it was 6am) and she printed me the wrong ticket. I never looked at the name once she gave me the ticket (I just assumed it was right) and the security guard never asked to see my ID since I was a minor, and once we got through security I had to give my ticket to one of our band directors for them to hold on to until the flight, so I wasn't aware I had the wrong ticket until we were sitting at the terminal and they started calling my name over the intercom throughout the whole airport. I got it sorted out quickly, but just always make sure to check to see if the ticket is yours and has your name on it! :rotfl:

I promised them I'd call whenever I could to give them updates. Plus they saw me on the plane and I was picked up right at the gate so it was even safer.
I'd suggest you go to the sites that give you good deals on airfair. That's what my dad does and he usually gets tickets pretty cheap.
As for raising money you could ask your parents what you can do for money. You could wash people cars around your neighborhood or do yard work for them. That's what I did to raise money before I was old enough to get a job.

chesssh. from nashville to new hampshire. direct flight. i loved it becasue my brother and i just laughed the entire time and no one told us to stop haha.

but that was the only time

I really just think it's a personal thing between your parents and you.
It's really up how responsible and independent they think/know you can be. If they don't think you're ready, then you shouldn't pressure them.
But proving you're responsible always helps.
