Hi. I'm pregnant :cheer2: with my 2nd baby. We have a 2 year old now and she had her first disney world vacation last November. I would like to go for Easter to Disney World for a week's vacation. I would be during my 16th week. I get terrible motion sickness and would normally use the seasick patch for the flight. This time though i'm no risk taker so i'd go without it. I'd imagine i'd be a total mess for the flight and for hours afterwards. However, i think it would be worth it otherwise we'd likely wait til Nov. 2015 when the new baby turns 1.
Anyone fly and do disney while pregnant that can share their experience? I read that it is safe to fly while pregnant under normal circumstances.

:flower3: thanks

I flew while pregnant with my twins. No issues but I don't get motion sick. It wasn't a trip to disney but I found I tired very easily. Needed a nap every afternoon. It was a really quiet trip to Quebec City.

There are more rides you can do than not. You would have to stay hydrated and just listen to your body. Rest when necessary. I think it's doable but I would recommend talking with your dr and getting cleared by him or her.

My dr did nix a 23 day cruise out of Dubai when I was pregnant. Didn't like the long flight or the idea of me on a ship. Quebec he okayed.

I flew a few times while pregnant and was miserable each time. If I could avoid it I would. If not I would make sure to have Ginger Snaps on hand to munch on. Drink plenty of water and some Ginger ale if things get rough.

Congrats!

I went to WDW when I was 16 weeks pregnant and had a great time. I made sure to drink tons of water and I did take a mid day nap each day. It was fun to shop for the baby and we had a lot of great ADRs. The plane ride didn't bother me, but I usually don't get motion sickness.

Have fun and congratulations!

Have you tried anything for motion sickness? I got MotionEase for myself and my kids. You don't ingest it, it's a little drop of oil that goes behind each of your ears, perfectly safe for kids so I'm sure it's safe for pregnant women. I don't have horrible motion sickness but the last time we flew I did have motion sickness and this time I did not.

Not disney, but I had horrible "morning" sickness and found that sea bands helped. I slept with those suckers on!

I also drank ginger tea and loved that. My favorite is tazo green ginger but that's caffeinated so I was admittedly trying to not have a ton of it.

Also, for the flight I did at the time, the main issue I had was the swelling. I was about 5-6 months and flying for work. It was a LONG day with a lot of sitting and my feet swelled up bigger than they did even later in my pregnancy. Would recommend not sitting still for so long like I did while flying or stuck at the airport if possible.

Best of luck whatever you decide. And congratulations!!

I've been to Disney twice while pregnant.

First time I was about 20 weeks pregnant. The second time I was a little further along, about 24 weeks.

I felt a little better on the second trip bc the weather was much better. The first preggo trip it was extremely hot and humid.

I was lucky and didn't get morning sickness, so can't give advise on that.

I did make sure to drink lots of water and I would sit and put my feet up as much as possible. Make sure you have really comfortable shoes.

Have a great time and take LOTS of pics!!

I flew while pregnant at 4 months along with my 2nd DD and had no problems. I slept with some pillows under my feet to counteract all the extra time on my feet walking around, and to prevent swelling. I also drank extra water due to the extra salt in all that yummy park food!

As for the morning sickness: Many times, it gets a lot better by the second trimester. But if it hasn't for you, I'd suggest talking to your OB about it. I had hypermesis gravidarum (severe nonstop sickness) with my last pregnancy. There are some prescriptions that can help that are safe when pregnant - you might consider getting a prescription and taking it only if natural remedies don't work.
