Flyglobespan using 737??????

That isn't the main issue, though, Bob. What should be a non-stop flight will now involve a stop. That's going to add on a good few hours to what is already a 9 hour Transatlantic flight.

We have just been back on the phone with Globespan, they have said that it's certain flights that they are going to use the 737's for, which ones she is unsure of!
I have started the ball rolling now on getting parking and car hire changed, looks like a booking with VA it's going to be.
DH is a nervous flyer and doesn't want to take the chance of having to stop off and re-fuel.

No reply from email (see previous post) also emailed managing director and no response from him either. We are going to give it a couple of days and then see if we can rebook with Virgin. What a disappointment and waste of time and MONEY

Really not great news, but hopefully it will improve, we where lucky they changed day we where flying so we got a refund from them, but have to say they will not be getting many returning customers or loyalty,

Well we have cancelled with Globespan! Luckily we have some miles so used them to rebook with VA. All done so far, just car parking and car hire to sort out now.
*breathes a sigh of relief*

Great that you have sorted it out, but I'm dismayed that Globespan has not sofar shown good customer service :confused3

We have never used Globespan but had it as one of our options. DH is a nervous enough flyer to the point where he reads everything there is on these planes. When he saw this thread his mind was made up. No globespan for us :thumbsup2

I am really sorry that this has occured but you possibly have helped a lot of
other Disers and for that I thank you very much:thumbsup2

Thanks all for the kind words :) I am so happy that we have cancelled, a huge weight has been lifted from our shoulders.

I have managed to get my car hire sorted, thanks usrentacar, they have been wonderful and understanding. My Car parking is now changed too.

Harry I can't take the credit, it was OB1 that opened my eyes :thumbsup2:

Hi guess what still no answer from Globespan and now Virgin have put their prices up by £200! And thats just from yesterday.....makes you wonder if they read the Dis! Globespan obviously dont give a moknkeys as we are waiting on replies to three seperate emails now. All we asked for was reassurance that they'd do their best to provide the services we booked. Is that too much to ask?:confused3
Advice desperatley needed please.

I just feel terrible for people who have no idea that anything is going on and turn up at the airport on the day of their holiday to be confronted with something that can have a detrimental effect on their holiday, possibly a horrendous flight and spending time in Fla worrying about the trip home.
I just wish all airlines /car hire firms and hoteliers would be more forthcoming with the tuth.

Know what you mean, as a sidetrack we booked last year originally with Delta. When i picked up they were using the 7674's on the MAN-JFK route without the seat backs i rang Delta UK (In india i think) and they still insisted they had them. I offered to e-mail a pic of their cabin to help them admit the fact? I rebooked with BMI and had a great flight.

We are booked Business with Globespan in October - DH phoned today and got an answer the 3rd time!!!!
They confirmed that the 737 will be used on some dates and as we are booked business we will be receiving an email within the next day or 2.
I wont hold my breath.
Looking at Virgin direct from Glasgow now.

Agreed. Hopefully others will find this out before arrival at the airport.

Mo I hope you get sorted, it's a nightmare! Thankfully we are finding out now before it was too late.

I forgot to thank you OB1...would never have known if it wasn't for you.:thumbsup2 :woohoo:

We phoned globespan today, looks like we are going to lose £150. Have been looking at BA Glasgow - Gatwick and Gatwich to Orlando. We got the impression from the person at globespan that our flight would be ' a smaller plane' but we would have to wait til the end of april to find out for definate. Don't want to wait that long. Going to the travel agent tomorrow to get stuff changed. Has really put a downer on our plans, we were looking forward to flying business class!! The great thing was when we were on the phone and asked what would happen if business class was not available the reply was 'Well you won't be happy'. That would have been the understatement of the century!!! :) But it made us laugh!!
