FLY pentop computer

My DD has this on her list too. I think we are going to pass on it this year because of the cost of the paper and other extras. I know how fast she goes through paper, so that would be a huge thing to consider. I told her we would wait and she how well it works and try for next year.

I bought one for my DS(9) for Christmas. Before investing any extra money in the options, I carefully removed it and tried it out. I was pretty impressed at how well it worked. One of the functions I tried was called FlyTunes. I drew a keyboard, added drums and then recorded a tune (OK, I'm not musical, so it was more like recording random sounds <g>). It walks you thru the steps and I didn't have any problem with it recognizing what I wrote which is what concerned me. I used the calculator function and a couple other tools before I carefully re-packaged it. BTW, once you draw an activity, you don't necessarily have to redraw it to be able to use it again (there are some limits on this). Based on that, I'm not as concerned about the paper costs as I was at the beginning. However, I did end up getting a couple additional modules as I'm not sure the basic functions that come with it will be enough to keep a kid interested for long.

DD10 wants this from Santa. I ordered it from QVC. $99. for the case, map, earphones, and a bunch of xtras. I haven't tried it yet. I think QVC has the best bargain because of all the xtras. Relatives will be getting her the accs. for Christmass. I'm just happy I'm done w/Christmas..
